Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alfred Combs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Jn Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Jn Pierre has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Alfred Combs's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Alfred Combs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Jn Pierre!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jn Pierre moves into range and clinches up with Combs.
Combs drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Combs pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Combs could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jn Pierre avoids the head kick by Combs.

Jn Pierre is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Combs's half guard.

Jn Pierre stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Combs to get to his feet.

Jn Pierre shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Jn Pierre looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Combs keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Jn Pierre stalling away here and it's allowed Combs to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Jn Pierre feints and as Combs raises his hands in defense, Jn Pierre changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Combs had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jn Pierre defends it easily.
Jn Pierre wants to control from the top but Combs keeps moving.
Jn Pierre slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Combs is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

An elbow from Jn Pierre crashes against the mat.
Combs is pushing Jn Pierre's head away, looking to escape. Jn Pierre manages to hold on to the position though.
Jn Pierre remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jn Pierre in particular looking to stall.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Combs has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Jn Pierre is on him like a limpet, forcing Combs back against the cage.

Jn Pierre has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Combs regains guard immediately.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Combs looking for a sweep. Not yet Combs, not yet.
Combs not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jn Pierre trying to control but Combs is working from the bottom.
Jn Pierre in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Combs tries to kick Jn Pierre off in order to stand up. Jn Pierre Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jn Pierre manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Combs on his heels. He'll look to pass Combs's guard now, I'm sure.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Combs has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jn Pierre can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Combs controls Jn Pierre momentarily but Jn Pierre frees himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Combs circles away from the clinch attempt.
It looked like Combs wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Jn Pierre moves into the clinch successfully.
Jn Pierre scores with a nice hook to the head.

Jn Pierre pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Jn Pierre darts in and clinches Combs up against the cage.

Mike Jn Pierre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jn Pierre closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Combs did well to prevent Jn Pierre getting side control.

Mike Jn Pierre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Combs counters with a takedown into side control.
Jn Pierre tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Combs has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Jn Pierre has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Jn Pierre is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Combs is trying to stick to Jn Pierre's back but Jn Pierre is turning into Combs. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Combs's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Jn Pierre.
Combs pulls Jn Pierre in close to his closed guard and prevents Jn Pierre from doing any damage or advancing position.
Combs wants to get back to his feet but Jn Pierre is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Combs controls Jn Pierre momentarily but Jn Pierre frees himself.

Combs wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jn Pierre accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Combs is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Jn Pierre dives into side control.
Jn Pierre in side control lands a decent elbow.
Combs wants to control but Jn Pierre postures up.
Jn Pierre is looking to take a break and control but Combs is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Combs might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Jn Pierre closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jn Pierre lands in his opponent's guard.
Combs is wriggling around but Jn Pierre manages to pass to half guard.


Jn Pierre decides to stand up.
Jn Pierre tries to close the distance and clinch up but Combs swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Alfred Combs is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No joy there for Jn Pierre, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Jn Pierre drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Alfred Combs has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mike Jn Pierre is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Jn Pierre takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Combs doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Well Jn Pierre has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
