Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bas Van Persie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harley John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bas Van Persie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Harley John! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Persie scores with a kick to the midsection. Van Persie blocks a head kick by John.
Van Persie fails to land the takedown. Van Persie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Van Persie moves out of range of the body kick. Van Persie rushes John and presses him up against the cage. John tries to pull guard but Van Persie holds him up against the cage and eventually John drops back down to his feet.
Van Persie has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics John uses from the top position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Van Persie is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Van Persie's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Van Persie throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A jab from John finds it's way through Van Persie's defenses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Persie moves into the clinch. Van Persie wants a takedown.
John misses with a body punch.
John jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Van Persie walks away with a smile on his face. John gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Van Persie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. John pushes Van Persie off and gets back to his feet. Van Persie misses with a takedown and John counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bas Van Persie. That's going to take a lot out of him. John misses with a takedown attempt and Van Persie counters with a single leg into guard. John didn't expect that. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! John tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Van Persie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Van Persie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Van Persie is in close to John's body, working some short punches and elbows. John is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Van Persie keeping control of the position. John is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Van Persie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but John pulls his head out easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Persie wants to get back to his feet.
Van Persie is trying to control but John manages to pass to mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Van Persie wants to hold on but John pushes him away. John with good strikes from the mount here! John controlling from the full mount. Van Persie is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Van Persie gets back to half guard. Van Persie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but John pulls his head out easily. John is looking for a kimura here.
Van Persie misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Van Persie tries to get to full guard but John has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Bas Van Persie will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Van Persie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Van Persie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! John being controlled for a moment. John struggling a bit here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Van Persie is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. John can't do much from the bottom here. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. John is not content to let Van Persie control the position. You can see the frustration on John's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Van Persie stands up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. John moves into range and clinches up with Van Persie. John letting Van Persie take a breather here. Van Persie will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning John up against the cage. John wants to take the fight to the mat but Van Persie manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. John is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Van Persie is keeping busy. Van Persie breaks from the clinch.
Van Persie walks into a straight right hand from John.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Persie clinches up against the cage. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Van Persie. With the fighters up against the cage, John throws an elbow but misses. John takes a shot to the head. Van Persie has clasped his hands together around John's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Van Persie scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at John to see if he's OK. Van Persie slows the pace down. Van Persie works to advance to full mount. John defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Van Persie content just to control the position here. Van Persie looking for a guillotine from mount but John is having none of it. John sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Van Persie is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Van Persie takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bas Van Persie dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
John misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from John. The fight moves into the clinch position. John wants a takedown.
John is trying to pull guard but Van Persie turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Bas Van Persie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harley John. Van Persie manages to pull guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Van Persie seems keen to control John's posture. Van Persie has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Van Persie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in John's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. John wants to hit a switch here but Van Persie passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for John there! Van Persie looking to control and managing it successfully. Van Persie is working for a guillotine from mount but John frees his head quite easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. John bucks up and throws Van Persie to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape! John gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. John wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Van Persie manages to pass to side control. Van Persie is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that John can do to turn this around?
This has been an exciting period of action! Van Persie trying to pass the guard but John defending well. Van Persie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Well, if Van Persie is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Van Persie decides to stand and escape the position. Van Persie pushes John up against the cage in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Van Persie manages to break the clinch.
A nice combination there by John.
John shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Van Persie counters into the clinch. Nicely done. John takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Van Persie breaks from the clinch.
Van Persie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with John, pushing him back against the cage. Van Persie gets control of John's arms and successfully pulls guard. Van Persie will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Van Persie pulls John in close to prevent any damage. Van Persie wants to sweep here but John controlling him for the moment. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. John is standing up over Van Persie. Van Persie looks to escape but John dives into side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Bas Van Persie showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Van Persie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
