Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bernie Shepard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Psalmiel Iheaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iheaka fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Shepard looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Iheaka drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Iheaka has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Shepard!

Iheaka stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Iheaka shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Shepard is trying to defend but Iheaka finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shepard prevents Iheaka from moving into mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Iheaka looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Shepard is avoiding damage well.
Shepard tries to improve position but can't.
Iheaka wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shepard keeps working.

Iheaka has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Shepard looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Iheaka is looking to work some ground and pound but Shepard has wrist control.

Iheaka drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Shepard manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Iheaka has Shepard in his guard.

Shepard wants to control from the top but Iheaka keeps moving.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Iheaka holds on and takes a little breather.

Shepard content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Iheaka has locked up a guillotine! Iheaka's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Shepard is holding on here and Iheaka must be using up a lot of energy. Shepard has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Iheaka gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
