Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Jacobi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bilbro Baggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Jacobi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bilbro Baggins!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baggins slips under a jab.

Jacobi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Baggins is looking to clinch but Jacobi is avoiding it.

Baggins fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jacobi to the ground. Baggins is now in Jacobi's guard.
Jacobi is trying to control the position but Baggins postures up.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

We've been hearing good reports from Jacobi's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Jacobi feints and as Baggins raises his hands in defense, Jacobi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jacobi wants to control from the top but Baggins keeps moving.

Jacobi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Baggins looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Baggins looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Baggins!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jacobi pushes Baggins away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Baggins gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Baggins wants to control but Jacobi is keeping him busy.

Baggins looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jacobi is trying to improve his position.
You can see the frustration on Jacobi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jacobi parries the strikes from Baggins easily there. Baggins is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Jacobi to escape.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jacobi is looking for a sweep.
Jacobi tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Baggins presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Baggins jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jacobi manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Baggins goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Jacobi has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Baggins but great work by Jacobi.
Baggins is not content to let Jacobi control the position.

Jacobi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Baggins is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Baggins is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jacobi's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Jacobi is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Baggins is doing well to control the position and prevent Jacobi from advancing to side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jacobi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Baggins felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Jacobi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Baggins does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That was a close round but Johnny Jacobi did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.

Baggins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jacobi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Baggins has managed to get both his arms back between Jacobi's legs - danger averted.

Baggins sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jacobi's guard.

Bilbro Baggins dominated that fourth round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Baggins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Baggins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jacobi wants to control but Baggins postures up.
Jacobi is trying to buck Baggins off.
Jacobi manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Baggins is looking to take a break and control but Jacobi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jacobi is trying to control but can't.
Jacobi tries to get to full guard but Baggins has control of the leg.
Baggins passes the guard and advances to mount!
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Baggins avoids the attempt from Jacobi to control.

Baggins has hold of Jacobi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jacobi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Poor strikes thrown by Baggins there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Baggins lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Jacobi wants to hold on but Baggins pushes him away.
Baggins takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Baggins is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Jacobi is looking to improve his position but Baggins isn't that keen on the idea.

Baggins is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Jacobi is forced to tap! Great finish!

A relieved looking Bilbro Baggins thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
