PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jacques Cline (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antoni Sadowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jacques Cline!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Antoni Sadowski!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cline throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sadowski tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cline is in Sadowski's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cline throwing strikes but missing.
Sadowski is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cline is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sadowski is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Cline tries to roll over but Sadowski keeps him under control.
Sadowski is thwarting Cline's attempts to control the position.
Sadowski wants to control but Cline is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sadowski slows the pace down in half guard.
Cline holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Sadowski working the head and body with strikes.
Cline avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Sadowski.

Sadowski is working for a kimura but Cline is defending it quite comfortably.
Sadowski is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Cline manages to get to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sadowski is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
It looks like Sadowski might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Cline controls Sadowski momentarily but Sadowski frees himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cline wants to stand up but Sadowski is controlling him.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Sadowski wants to pass the guard but Cline is keeping the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Cline gets a clinch.

Cline lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Cline knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sadowski on the ground.
Cline not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cline lands a nice short elbow.
Sadowski controlling the position well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sadowski taking some punishment here, with Cline in his half guard.
Cline lands strikes from half guard.
Sadowski regains full guard. Nicely done.
Cline in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Sadowski is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Cline missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Cline stands up over Sadowski, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Cline got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sadowski has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cline has managed to get both his arms back between Sadowski's legs - danger averted.
Sadowski looking for a sweep. Not yet Sadowski, not yet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cline won't allow Sadowski to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jacques Cline will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Cline misses with a takedown attempt - Sadowski sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Cline fails to land the takedown.
Sadowski darts in looking for a takedown but Cline gets double underhooks and turns Sadowski into the cage.
Cline lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
A left and a right from Sadowski both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Jacques Cline has been cut.
Cline shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sadowski sprawls well. Sadowski wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cline gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jacques Cline. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sadowski throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cline was covering up waiting for the punch and Sadowski finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Sadowski is standing up over Cline. Cline looks to escape but Sadowski dives into side control.


Cline is rocked!

Oh Cline is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sadowski gets to mount! Cline was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Sadowski lands a heavy elbow.
Antoni Sadowski has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sadowski lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Sadowski! Cline is hurt baaadly! Sadowski is firing away with more strikes - Cline is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Antoni Sadowski!
