Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Milton Oconnor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Devonte Harris!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris gets a double leg takedown into Oconnor's guard.
Harris controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Harris scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Harris is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Oconnor will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oconnor swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Oconnor really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Harris controlling from the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Harris passes Oconnor's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Oconnor knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Harris on the ground.
Oconnor trying to control here.
Harris winds up and cracks Oconnor with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Harris is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Oconnor doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Harris.
Oconnor trying to hold on to Harris's head to control him but Harris postures up.
Still in half guard, Harris seems content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harris is trying to work for a kimura but Oconnor is defending well.
Harris slips a nice elbow through Oconnor's hands, connecting with Oconnor's forehead.
Oconnor is rocked!
Harris content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Oh Oconnor is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Harris lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Oconnor! More strikes land and this one is all over! Harris jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Devonte Harris!
