Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Spencer McTague !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raymond Rabago!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McTague displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rabago throws out the jab.
Rabago moves into range and connects with a jab.
McTague shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rabago as he jumps to the side.
Raymond Rabago seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McTague slips a straight right by Rabago.

McTague shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. McTague showed some decent athleticism there.
Rabago keeping hold of McTague 's head, controlling as best he can.
Rabago is staying active underneath McTague , who seems content to just control the action from this position.

McTague looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Rabago trying to control but McTague postures up.

McTague is looking for a kimura but Rabago is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McTague to get the leverage.
Rabago is trying to control but can't.

McTague seems to be working for a kimura but Rabago defends the submission attempt.
Rabago is concentrating on defense, preventing McTague from advancing position.
McTague will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
McTague has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from McTague there as he acknowledges the shot.

Rabago swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Rabago misses with a looping left.
Rabago looks to land a right hand but McTague moved out of range.
Rabago throws a body punch but McTague moves out of range.
Rabago scores with a jab to the jaw.
McTague takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Rabago misses with a straight right.
McTague steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rabago.
McTague shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rabago but Rabago pushes him off and we're back to square one.
McTague looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rabago is fending him off so far but McTague persists. Nope, Rabago circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Spencer McTague . That's going to take a lot out of him.
McTague ducks under a wild hook from Rabago.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Rabago has eaten all the pies!

Rabago scores with the left hand. McTague knows he should have avoided that one.


McTague is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rabago swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
McTague bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
McTague ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rabago dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rabago throws out a loose jab but McTague uses good head movement to avoid it.
Rabago scores with a hook.
McTague takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Rabago punishes McTague 's body with a nice straight punch.
McTague slips under a jab.
McTague slips a jab from Rabago.
McTague ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Rabago closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Rabago is looking to advance position but McTague won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rabago not doing much here.
McTague trying to hold on to Rabago's head to control him but Rabago postures up.
McTague wants to sweep but Rabago has passed to side control!
McTague is not content to let Rabago control the position.

Rabago advances to full mount.
McTague is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Rabago has taken his back!
Will Rabago go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Rabago is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. McTague is defending well though. Rabago let's go of the attempt for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raymond Rabago dominated that round.

A telegraphed right hand from Rabago misses the target.
Spencer McTague is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rabago thows a body shot but no joy.
Rabago waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract McTague .
McTague shoots in but no luck this time.
Rabago gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and McTague counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rabago's guard now.

McTague drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rabago manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now McTague has Rabago in his guard.
Rabago stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McTague swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rabago is pushing down on McTague 's leg trying to pass to half guard. McTague is fighting to maintain full guard but Rabago has managed to sneak the leg through.
Rabago trying to control the action but McTague is working from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rabago tries to pass the half guard into mount. McTague knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
McTague tries to roll over but Rabago keeps him under control.
McTague trying to get back to full guard but Rabago takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
McTague looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
A lull in the action here.
Rabago has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of McTague 's body.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Let's hope that Rabago has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
McTague rolls, trying to escape but Rabago keeps control of the position.
Rabago struggling to keep hold of the position.
Rabago is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Despite being in the dominant position, Raymond Rabago just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rabago throws a jab but it's blocked by McTague .
McTague takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
McTague slips under a jab.
Raymond Rabago seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Rabago lands a nice shot to the body.
Rabago throws a hook but McTague blocks it.
McTague moves away from the strike by Rabago.

McTague scores a takedown into full mount!

McTague has control of Rabago's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Rabago regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Rabago tries to hold on but McTague postures up.

Rabago can't escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rabago is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Rabago stops McTague from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

McTague goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Rabago turns into him and now he's in McTague 's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Spencer McTague will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Rabago throws an overhand right that lands on McTague 's shoulder, as McTague tries to avoid the shot.
Rabago jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Horrible takedown by McTague or perhaps it was just good defense by Rabago which made him look bad.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from McTague .
Rabago throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McTague sees it coming and avoids it easily.

and McTague counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rabago won't be happy with that.
McTague wants to control for a moment but Rabago uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
McTague is staying active underneath Rabago, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

McTague actively working from the bottom here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Rabago wants to pass to mount but McTague is defending the position.
Spencer McTague overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rabago wants to lay and pray for a moment but McTague keeps working.
Rabago looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
McTague tries to roll over but Rabago keeps him under control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Rabago is trying to get an arm triangle but McTague is defending well.
McTague trying to remain calm as Rabago controls from the top position.

You can see the frustration on McTague 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Rabago wants to lay and pray for a moment but McTague keeps working.
McTague tries to buck Rabago off but Rabago is having none of it.

Rabago tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rabago has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
McTague keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rabago.
Rabago throws a hook but McTague avoids it easily.
Rabago shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and McTague counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by McTague .
McTague stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rabago swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rabago tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rabago is trying to keep McTague in close.
McTague won't allow Rabago to get back to his feet.
McTague trying to control the position from guard on top but Rabago is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

McTague has gone for a leg lock! Rabago slips out almost immediately though and dives into McTague 's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Spencer McTague showed his dominance in that final round.
I think McTague has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
