Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eito Itasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Myres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Eito Itasaki! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Myres! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Itasaki throws a push kick but Myres slaps the foot to one side. Myres takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Itasaki tries to clinch but Myres moves out of range. Itasaki throws a wild body kick that Myres sees coming a mile off. Itasaki fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Myres. Myres misses with a hook. Itasaki looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Itasaki tries to land a front kick but Myres steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Myres bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Itasaki's head. Myres swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Itasaki throws a head kick that misses and Myres counters with a nice uppercut. Myres swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Myres moves out of range of the body kick. Myres on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A jab from Myres finds it's way through Itasaki's defenses. A head kick misses from Itasaki. A chopping leg kick lands by Itasaki. Itasaki connects with an inside leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Itasaki misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Itasaki lands a head kick. Myres smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Eito Itasaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Myres avoids the head kick by Itasaki.

A head kick misses from Itasaki. Myres misses the jab. Itasaki looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Itasaki misses with a head kick.
Myres throws a body punch but Itasaki moves out of range. Itasaki doesn't manage to clinch there - Myres circles away.
Myres tries to bum rush Itasaki with a series of wild strikes but Itasaki uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Itasaki wants to slow Myres down by chopping away at his legs. Myres avoids the head kick by Itasaki.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Myres! But no joy. Myres misses with a body shot.
Myres lands a really nice looking cross but Itasaki seems unphased.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A good leg kick by Itasaki. Myres takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Itasaki wants to clinch but Myres slips to the side and Myres counters with a series of strikes. Itasaki will be more careful next time no doubt. Myres shoots in for a takedown but Itasaki shows good takedown defense. A big left from Myres misses. Both fighters circling a little - Itasaki finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Some wild striking there from Myres.

Itasaki fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Myres has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Itasaki has Myres up against the cage in a clinch.
Myres wants to break the clinch but can't.
Myres is trying to force a seperation but Itasaki has the dominant position. Itasaki working Myres over with knees to the body. Myres looks winded! Itasaki with a knee to the head.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Itasaki scores a nice knee to the body.

Eito Itasaki dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Myres's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Both fighters circling a little - Itasaki finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Myres seems to have recovered his senses. Itasaki lets loose with a powerful body kick. Myres will feel that in the morning. Itasaki is looking to slow Myres down with leg kicks. Itasaki fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Itasaki throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Itasaki ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Itasaki cracks the inside of Myres's front leg. Itasaki is looking to slow Myres down with leg kicks. Myres might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Itasaki with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Itasaki tries to close the distance and clinch up but Myres swats him away and circles back towards the center. Myres looks like he wants to counter punch here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Itasaki moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Itasaki moves in looking to clinch but Myres pushes him off. The fighters circle, before Itasaki throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Myres's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Itasaki lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
