Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Herschel Gould (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eli Vega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Herschel Gould! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eli Vega! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gould lands a jab. Vega scores with a nice body kick.
Gould fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Vega sprawls well initially but Gould persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Vega is concentrating on defense, preventing Gould from advancing position. Vega is looking to improve his position.
Gould is thwarting Vega's attempts to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vega is controlling Gould's trapped leg to prevent Gould from advancing to side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vega trying to control from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gould drives through with a takedown into Vega's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Vega not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gould slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Vega. Vega wants to improve his position but Gould is controlling well.

Gould stands up out of the half guard. Vega shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Vega in particular looking to stall. Vega is keen to just control but Gould is a slippery customer.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Vega is looking for a kimura but Gould is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Vega to get the leverage. Vega seems to be looking for submissions.
Vega stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Eli Vega seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gould avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Vega tries to clinch but Gould moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gould looks for a takedown but Vega sprawls well. Vega looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Gould half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Vega shoots in and gets a takedown into Gould's guard. Gould trying to keep a closed guard but Vega is proving a slippery customer.
Vega is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Vega gets to his feet - Gould follows without any prompting. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Vega lands with an overhand left. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vega closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Vega missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Vega is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gould doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Vega. Vega is keen to just control but Gould is a slippery customer. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vega slows the pace down in half guard. Vega has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gould is not content to let Vega control the position. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Vega prevents Gould from improving his position. Vega looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gould with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Vega is trying to control the action in half guard but Gould is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Vega decides to return to a standing position. Gould throws a leg kick which misses Vega's front leg but catches the back leg as Vega tries to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Vega manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gould on his heels. He'll look to pass Gould's guard now, I'm sure. Gould has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Vega off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Vega closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Vega is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Gould tries to get back to half guard but can't. Vega misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vega working the ground and pound. Vega wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gould keeps working. Gould is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Vega off and has taken his back! Vega showing good submission defense here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gould is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Herschel Gould will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Vega drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Gould keeping moving, preventing Vega from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vega drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gould looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gould looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gould!

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Vega keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Vega has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gould is working away from the top position though. Gould is working for a kimura but Vega is defending it quite comfortably.

Vega tries to lock up and control but Gould gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Gould throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Vega because Gould loaded up on that one. Vega keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Gould lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Vega working to try and regain half guard.
Vega takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Vega is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Vega wants to control but Gould is having none of it. Gould landing strikes from the mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Herschel Gould showed his dominance in that final round. I think Gould has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
