Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rex Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rex Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stephen Stone!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davis takes the fight into the clinch.
Stone tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Davis prevents a body shot from Stone.
Stone gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Davis.
Stone scores with a nice hook to the head.
Stone looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Stone doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Stone tries a body shot but Davis blocks it.
Davis is trying to force a seperation but Stone has the dominant position.
Stone lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Stone misses with a shot to the kidneys.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stone swings wildly with an uppercut but Davis uses good head movement to avoid it.
Stone prevents a takedown attempt there.
Stone lands a body shot in the clinch.

Davis successfully pulls guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stone loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Stone throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Davis works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Stone throws an elbow that misses. Davis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stone's guard. Nice move by Davis!


Davis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Davis slips nicely into half guard.
Stone is trying to stand back up but Davis is controlling him
Stone tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Stone looks like he's trying to stand up.
Stone is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Davis throwing shots but Stone is blocking nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stone is trying to stand back up but Davis is controlling him
Davis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stone strikes from the bottom but Davis uses the opportunity to move to side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stone is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Davis has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Davis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Stone is not content to let Davis control the position.
Stone tries to buck Davis off but Davis is having none of it.
Davis prevents Stone from escaping the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stone can do anything to dispel that myth.

Davis is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Stone has escaped the position, nice work there.
Stone pushes Davis away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Davis gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Davis slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Stone.
Stone trying desperately to get to his feet.
Davis unloads with some shots from mount but Stone bucks and avoids them well.
Poor strikes thrown by Davis there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Davis wants to control the pace but Stone is squirming around nicely.
Stone is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Davis prevents Stone from getting the reversal.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Davis thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Davis blocks Stone's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Stone working to try and regain half guard.
Davis unloads with some shots from mount but Stone bucks and avoids them well.
Davis looking to control and managing it successfully.
Stone holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Davis tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Stone wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Davis trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Davis controlling the position easily from mount.
You get the feeling that Stone really doesn't like being in this position too much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rex Davis dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Davis shoots in for a double leg but Stone sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A slow jab from Stone misses its intended target.
Stone throws a right and a left that both miss.
Stone throws a big shot that misses.
Rex Davis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stone throws a shot to the body.
Davis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stone sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Davis somewhat.
Stone throws a hook to the side of Davis's head but Davis sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Stone cracks Davis with a right hand to the side of the head.
Davis fails with the takedown.
Stone now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rex Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stone lands a slapping body shot.
Stone lands a nice shot to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stone darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Stone changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Stone scores with a shot to the body.
Good exchange - Stone coming out on top.
Stone misses with a straight left.
Davis takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Stone throws a jab but it's blocked by Davis.
Davis appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Davis looks up at the clock. Bad move! Stone lands a right hand from hell, dropping Davis. Stone pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stephen Stone!
