The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Kalashnikov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kalashnikov punishes Simpson's body with a nice straight punch.
Kalashnikov misses with a body shot.
Simpson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Kalashnikov defends it well.

Simpson darts in looking for a takedown but Kalashnikov gets double underhooks and turns Simpson into the cage.

Kalashnikov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Simpson moves away.
Simpson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

The fighters circle momentarily. Kalashnikov darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Kalashnikov is looking to wear down Simpson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Simpson tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Kalashnikov lands with a hook. Simpson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Simpson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Kalashnikov is pressed up against the cage. Simpson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kalashnikov down to the mat. Kalashnikov avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Kalashnikov stuffs the takedown.
Ruslan Kalashnikov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Homer Simpson.
Simpson wants to slow Kalashnikov down by chopping away at his legs.

Kalashnikov could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Kalashnikov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Simpson was well out of range. Poor timing from Kalashnikov.

Kalashnikov throws a nice looking combination but Simpson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Simpson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Kalashnikov defends it well.
Simpson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kalashnikov as he jumps to the side.
Kalashnikov is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Kalashnikov changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Good exchange - Kalashnikov coming out on top.
Kalashnikov takes a swing at Simpson's ribcage but misses.
Simpson tries to counter with a clinch but Kalashnikov shakes him off and moves away.
Kalashnikov gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Simpson prevents a body shot from Kalashnikov.
Kalashnikov lands a shoulder strike.
Simpson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kalashnikov gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Kalashnikov lands a left hand that snaps the head of Simpson backwards.
Simpson wants the takedown. Kalashnikov is fighting it off but Simpson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kalashnikov's guard against the cage.

Kalashnikov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kalashnikov tries to get out of the position.
Simpson drops back looking for a leg! Kalashnikov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kalashnikov manages to kick Simpson off! Simpson jumps back into Kalashnikov's guard.

Simpson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Kalashnikov is looking to stand up but Simpson isn't so interested in that idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ruslan Kalashnikov dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Simpson only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Kalashnikov has closed the distance and engaged Simpson in a clinch.
Simpson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kalashnikov is defending well.
Simpson blocks a body shot from Kalashnikov.
Simpson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Simpson manages to end up in side control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kalashnikov seems a little lost for a moment, as Simpson dominates the positioning.
Homer Simpson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Simpson is working to tighten his grip on Kalashnikov's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Kalashnikov has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Simpson is really squeezing tight and eventually Kalashnikov passes out! Simpson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
