Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between LA youngling BJJ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Tankard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Luke Tankard enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, LA youngling BJJ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Tankard! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! BJJ throws a right and a left that Tankard avoids nicely. BJJ slips a jab from Tankard. Tankard lands a head shot. Tankard throws out a powerful jab. LA youngling BJJ seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Excellent takedown into side control there by Tankard. BJJ trying to remain calm as Tankard controls from the top position. Tankard tries to score with some ground and pound. BJJ controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. BJJ throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Tankard lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear BJJ down.
BJJ is looking to regain half guard here but Tankard keeps moving and retains side control. The ground and pound from Tankard seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Tankard looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's one minute gone in the round. BJJ regains half guard. BJJ flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
BJJ is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Tankard scores with a couple of nice shots. BJJ is pressing down on Tankard's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. BJJ is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. BJJ will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Tankard must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. BJJ has a closed guard, preventing Tankard from standing up. BJJ looking for a sweep. Not yet BJJ, not yet. BJJ wants to control but Tankard passes easily into half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Tankard goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Tankard gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Tankard is trying to break free. BJJ blocks an uppercut.
Tankard wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Tankard tries a body shot but BJJ blocks it.
Tankard has had enough of the clinch but BJJ keeps him there for the moment. Tankard misses with a hook from the clinch. Tankard tries to break the clinch but BJJ is controlling the position. BJJ stalling the fight.
BJJ trying to control the position but instead, Tankard has worked for underhooks and has pushed BJJ into the cage. Tankard wants to get back to striking at distance but BJJ won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. BJJ breaks from the clinch.
Tankard feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. BJJ trying to control the position.
BJJ wants to sweep but no luck. BJJ working for submissions but it's allowed Tankard to get to half guard.
Tankard prevents BJJ from improving his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke Tankard dominated that round. That's time! BJJ's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tankard. BJJ throws a hook to the side of Tankard's head but Tankard sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. BJJ throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tankard. Tankard tests BJJ's chin there with a solid looking shot. BJJ listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. BJJ throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tankard looks to land a combination. BJJ sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Tankard looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Tankard is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Tankard throwing shots but BJJ is blocking nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. BJJ flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
BJJ moves into full guard.
Tankard decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on BJJ, up you get! Tankard blocks a jab. LA youngling BJJ is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tankard keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from BJJ. Tankard fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Tankard is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by BJJ. BJJ fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tankard manages to avoid it. Some wild striking there from Tankard.
BJJ throws a hook but Tankard blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. BJJ throws a combination. Tankard tries to block but a couple of punches get through. BJJ is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tankard. Nice uppercut lands for Tankard. That snapped BJJ's head back.

and Tankard counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in BJJ's guard now. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! BJJ keeping moving, preventing Tankard from controlling successfully. BJJ tries to land a sweep but no joy. BJJ working a defensive guard here.
BJJ wants to sweep but no luck. Tankard pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. BJJ is keeping the position for now. BJJ is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. BJJ looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Tankard has picked BJJ up and slammed him! BJJ can't keep hold of the triangle and Tankard manages to pass to side control! BJJ is positioning himself to get back to half guard. BJJ avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Tankard. Tankard stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. BJJ throws a jab but it's blocked by Tankard. Tankard slips under a jab. BJJ gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. BJJ wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Tankard is now in half guard. BJJ avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Tankard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. BJJ is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tankard's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tankard's back! BJJ throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. BJJ struggling to land strikes to the head as Tankard covers up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke Tankard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

and Tankard counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A punch combination from Tankard misses. BJJ throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Tankard counters with a left to the body. Tankard drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tankard trying to control the position from guard on top but BJJ is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tankard avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Tankard gets to his feet - BJJ follows without any prompting.
That's one minute gone in the round. No joy there for Tankard, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

BJJ moves forwards but Tankard connects with a nice, crisp jab. BJJ jabbing away but nothing is landing. BJJ walks into a stiff left hand from Tankard. BJJ looks to throw the jab but Tankard is out of range. Tankard closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tankard lands in his opponent's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. BJJ being controlled here, momentarily. Tankard trying to stand up but can't free himself from BJJ's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tankard gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Tankard uses good head movement to avoid the hook from BJJ. BJJ throws a predictable looking body shot
enabling Tankard to counter with a crisp jab. BJJ throws a right and a left that both miss. Tankard scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Tankard fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with BJJ, pushing him back against the cage. Tankard is trying to break the clinch but BJJ has him pressed against the cage. BJJ stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
BJJ tries to pull guard but Tankard holds him up against the cage and eventually BJJ drops back down to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tankard misses with a short punch on the inside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tankard is looking to break free of the clinch but BJJ has double underhooks. Luke Tankard is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Tankard wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Tankard wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but BJJ has him pressed against the cage. Tankard wants to break free but BJJ has control.

LA youngling BJJ has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! BJJ is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Tankard can't break the clinch.

Tankard scores with a punch to the head. Tankard scores with a punch to the head. Tankard shoots in and drives through. BJJ sprawls well. BJJ throws a combination that misses and Tankard decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in BJJ's guard. Luke Tankard has got the better of the ground game so far. BJJ looking for a guillotine here but Tankard defends easily.

And that's the end of the fight! Luke Tankard comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Tankard has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
