Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Watsz Mawe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jan Pope will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Watsz Mawe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jan Pope! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Shimada and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pope will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mawe throws a half hearted mid kick. Mawe fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pope to the ground. Mawe is now in Pope's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Mawe sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pope's guard. Pope makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pope. Pope wants to sweep here but Mawe controlling him for the moment. Mawe advances position into side control! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mawe wants to control but Pope is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mawe controlling the position from side mount. Pope tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Mawe easily slips into full mount! Mawe controlling the pace for now. Pope is trying desperately to improve position. Mawe takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mawe gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Pope has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Mawe tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pope swivels and escapes. Nice defenses there by Mawe. Pope closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Mawe has Pope pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pope manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. A right hand to the body from Pope.
Pope unloads a knee to the mid-section. Pope lands a knee to the body.
Mawe's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! A nice right hand lands inside from Pope. Mawe tries for a takedown but Pope manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Watsz Mawe. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mawe is working for takedown but Pope is calmly controlling the position for now.

Pope lands a right hand that snaps the head of Mawe backwards. Pope lands a body punch in the clinch. Pope lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Pope lands a good knee to the midsection. Mawe won't want to take too many of those. Mawe drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mawe is breathing heavily. Pope managing to block the knees to the body from Mawe.
Pope lands an elbow just above Mawe 's eye. Pope scores with an uppercut up the middle. Mawe takes a knee right on the jaw!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mawe is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pope pulls him back up using the underhooks. Mawe is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Pope lands a body punch. Mawe has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Pope after a bit of a struggle. Pope lands a knee to the head.
Pope scores with a shot to the side of Mawe's head. Pope lands a left hand.
Mawe is trying to stall.
Pope throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Mawes head. Mawe tries to throw a body punch but Pope avoids it by throwing Mawe back against the cage. Pope working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Mawe is working for takedown but Pope is calmly controlling the position for now. Pope gets underhooks to prevent Mawe's takedown attempt.
Pope lands a nice uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jan Pope dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Mawe doesn't succeed with the takedown and Pope counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Mawe! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!
