Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bobbie Stokes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tim Buckley! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Buckley defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stokes. Stokes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Buckley tries to avoid it but Stokes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Buckley to the ground. Buckley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Buckley clinches up against the cage. Stokes tries to pull guard but Buckley forces him back to his feet, against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobbie Stokes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Buckley jumps guard.
Stokes tries to stand but Buckley is controlling from the bottom. Stokes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Buckley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stokes manages to get himself to full guard.

Buckley postures up in Stokes's guard and throws a big left but Stokes blocks it. Stokes wants to get back to his feet but Buckley is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buckley decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Buckley tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stokes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Buckley somewhat. Some wild striking there from Buckley.
Buckley shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Stokes's guard. Buckley stands up from Stokes's guard - Buckley perhaps looking for a knockout. Tim Buckley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buckley moves in looking to clinch but Stokes pushes him off. Buckley goes for a double leg but Stokes avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Stokes continues to drive forward. Stokes is looking to counter the offense by Buckley and move into the clinch. Buckley has Stokes up against the cage in a clinch.

Buckley decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Stokes, up you get! Buckley shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stokes defends it nicely. Stokes tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Buckley manages to circle out of the way. Buckley tries to close the distance and clinch but Stokes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Buckley closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A head punch blocked on the inside by Buckley. Stokes tries to pull guard but Buckley won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Buckley wants to take the fight to the mat but Stokes manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Buckley lands with a short head shot on the inside. Stokes throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Buckley blocks it with crossed arms. Buckley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Buckley shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stokes as he avoids it easily. Buckley with a lazy takedown attempt and Stokes counters with a lovely shot to the body. Stokes fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Buckley has Stokes up against the cage in a clinch.

Stokes is defending well against a takedown attempt. Stokes has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Buckley is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Buckley breaks the clinch.
Buckley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Stokes throws a counter high kick but Buckley was just alert enough to avoid it. Buckley looks winded! Buckley tries to clinch but fails miserably and Stokes counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Buckley! Buckley is looking to get back to his feet here but Stokes is keeping cool and he's managed to take Buckley's back. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stokes keeps control of the position as Buckley tries to break free.

Buckley tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stokes paws at him with a jab and circles away. Stokes tries to counter by clinching up but Buckley breaks away and moves out of range. Stokes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Buckley throws a sloppy head kick so Stokes counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Buckley wants to get back to his feet but Stokes passes into half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Buckley shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Stokes kicks Buckley off and gets back to his feet.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Buckley will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Buckley is trying hard to land a takedown here. Stokes sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Buckley with a lazy takedown attempt and Stokes counters with a left and a right that stings Buckley. Stokes lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Stokes throws a sloppy head kick and Buckley moves out of range easily. Stokes circles away from the clinch attempt.
Buckley is looking to clinch. Stokes drops down looking for a counter takedown but Buckley sprawls and moves away. Buckley lands a nice looking kick to the body. Stokes takes a step back to recover. Buckley drives through with a takedown into Stokes's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stokes keeping moving, preventing Buckley from controlling successfully. Stokes has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Buckley has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Buckley takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Buckley shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Buckley showed some decent athleticism there. Stokes is trying to escape back to his feet but Buckley uses the scramble to pass into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buckley is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Stokes will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Buckley working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Buckley decides to stand up, so the ref orders Stokes to his feet. Buckley thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Stokes if he has to take too many more of those.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buckley leaves Stokes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Buckley shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stokes pinned against the cage. Stokes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Stokes tries to counter by clinching up but Buckley breaks away and moves out of range. Buckley throws a lazy head kick and Stokes moves into the clinch. Stokes can't get the takedown.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Stokes slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Buckley. Buckley gets full guard. Stokes postures up in Buckley's guard and throws a big left but Buckley blocks it. Tim Buckley has got the better of the ground game so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Stokes loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Buckley has his hands on Stokes's head, controlling the position.
