Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Renato Palma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bk Returns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Renato Palma! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bk Returns! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Returns moves into the clinch successfully.
Palma wants a takedown.
Palma is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Returns to keep the fight standing. Palma keeps control of Returns as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Returns escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Palma throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Returns was covering up waiting for the punch and Palma finishes the takedown easily into guard. Palma is stalling in the full guard. Returns really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Palma. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Returns lands a jab to the nose. Returns dives in for a single leg takedown but Palma sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Returns tries to close the distance and clinch up but Palma swats him away and circles back towards the center. Palma scores with a takedown into Returns's guard. Palma stops Returns from standing up. Palma postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Palma definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Palma is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Palma has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Returns wants to get back to his feet but Palma is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Palma engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Returns is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Returns manages to kick Palma off! Palma jumps back into Returns's guard. Palma is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Returns throws a right and a left that both miss. Returns tries to clinch but Palma is having none of it. Bk Returns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Palma scores with a takedown into Returns's guard. Returns wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Palma manages to pass to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Palma sitting and controlling from the half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This is a sustained period of stalling by Palma. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Palma seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Returns for as long as he can get away with. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Palma is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Returns's half guard. Palma passes to full mount! Palma working for a submission but Returns is keeping him at bay. Palma takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Palma with some aggressive grappling here.
