Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rico Scorpion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scorpion's entrance music is I'm Bad ll cool j. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rico Scorpion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Jones!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scorpion throws a head kick that misses.
Jones swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt
and Jones counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Scorpion throws a combination that misses
and Jones counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Jones takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.


It looks like Johnny Jones has been cut.
Scorpion looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Scorpion tries to clinch up
and Jones counters with a stiff right hand.
Scorpion tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Scorpion throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Scorpion takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Scorpion throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jones sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Jones takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Scorpion moves to clinch but Jones breaks away
letting Jones counter with a right hand.

Scorpion throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jones cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Scorpion tries to clinch but fails miserably

Scorpion pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Scorpion with a body shot.
Scorpion wants to clinch up but Jones keeps it at a distance.

and Jones counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Scorpion closes the distance and pushes Jones back into the cage.

Jones might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Scorpion lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Jones or not.
Scorpion swings wildly with an uppercut but Jones uses good head movement to avoid it.

Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Scorpion misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jones.
Scorpion takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Scorpion takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Jones counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Jones takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Rico Scorpion seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scorpion bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jones's head.
Jones defending well as Scorpion loads up on a big left hand.

and Jones counters with a stiff right hand.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jones lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Scorpion wants to clinch.
Jones is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Scorpion had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab.

Scorpion falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jones counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A looping hook to the body misses from Scorpion. Jones does a little dance to reset his feet.
Scorpion darts in and out, connecting with a jab.


That has opened up Johnny Jones's cut even more.
Scorpion tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Jones counters with a stiff right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Scorpion clinches.
Scorpion has a couple of punches blocked by Jones.
Jones lands a body shot.

Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones misses with a hook to the body
and Scorpion counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Scorpion looks to clinch
and Jones counters with a straight right hand.
Scorpion wants to clinch but Jones slips to the side
and Jones counters with a stiff right hand.
Scorpion tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.
A nice side step and Jones releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Scorpion throws a lazy head kick
and Jones counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Scorpion has closed the distance and engaged Jones in a clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Scorpion.
Scorpion looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Scorpion digs a right hand underneath Jones's ribcage. Jones let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Scorpion lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively.
Despite the aggression on Jones's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scorpion darts in trying to clinch
and Jones counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Scorpion lands with a good body shot.
Good shot there by Scorpion.
Scorpion looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Scorpion drops Jones with a beautiful combination! Jones stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Scorpion is looking for the KO!


Jones is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Scorpion fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Jones out cold! Brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Rico Scorpion!
Rico Scorpion decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
