Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patton has a takedown stuffed.
Adu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Adu looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Patton missing with knees to the body.
Patton is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Patton slows down the pace here.

Patton manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Adu stays in close to Patton's body and controls the position.

Patton wants to control the pace but Adu is squirming around nicely.
Adu is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Adu can't escape the position.
Adu wants to hold on but Patton pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Adu takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Mike Patton dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Patton counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Adu is looking to break free of the clinch but Patton has double underhooks.

Patton lands an elbow inside that Adu shrugs off.

Patton manages to break the clinch.
Adu tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Adu shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Patton counters with a single leg into guard. Adu didn't expect that.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Patton slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Patton remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Patton has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Adu tries to clinch up

and Patton decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Adu's guard.
Patton postures up.
Patton passes Adu's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Patton lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Adu is looking to improve his position.
Patton is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Adu is not content to let Patton control the position.
Patton wants to pass the guard but Adu is defending well.
Patton is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Adu is trying to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Adu tries for a takedown but Patton circles away easily

and Patton counters with a shoot takedown. Adu fights it but they end up in guard.

Adu has hold of Patton's hands but Patton slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Patton looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Adu really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Patton is looking to stall here but Adu recovers full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Patton passes Adu's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Mike Patton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Adu is looking for a triangle but Patton pushes his legs off easily.

Patton thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Patton cracks Adu with a solid left hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Patton advances position into side control!

Patton decides to stand back up. Patton steps back and let's Adu get back to his feet.
Patton has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Patton on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Patton is looking to clinch.

Patton drives through with a takedown into guard.
Adu keeping moving, preventing Patton from controlling successfully.
Adu looking to hit a scissor sweep but Patton is one step ahead there.
Adu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Patton on the ground.

Patton stands up from Adu's guard - Patton perhaps looking for a knockout.

Patton moves into range and clinches up with Adu.
Adu wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Adu tries for a takedown. No joy.

Patton gets control of Adu's arms and successfully pulls guard. Patton will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Adu has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Patton pushes Adu off and scrambles back to his feet.

Patton is taking a breather. Adu says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Patton passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Adu!

Patton throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Adu has his hands clasped together but Patton breaks the hold and Adu is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Patton!
