PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle TerGoose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Taylor might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hit em up 2. Kyle TerGoose will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nick Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kyle TerGoose !
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
TerGoose listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.


It looks like Nick Taylor has been cut.
TerGoose avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A jab from TerGoose does it's job there.
Taylor misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Taylor throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. TerGoose was covering up waiting for the punch and Taylor finishes the takedown easily into guard.

TerGoose is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
We've been hearing that Taylor has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Taylor working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of TerGoose 's head.
TerGoose is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
TerGoose utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
TerGoose looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

TerGoose has Taylor pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Taylor connects with a couple of short punches.
TerGoose bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Taylor's guard.


Taylor has an active guard here but TerGoose has managed to pass into half guard.
Taylor tries to roll over but TerGoose keeps him under control.

TerGoose is trying to control the action in half guard but Taylor is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
TerGoose thows a huge punch but Taylor dodges it nicely.

TerGoose perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Taylor is trying to stand up here but TerGoose is controlling him well.
Taylor is positioning himself well to prevent TerGoose advancing to mount.
Taylor is looking to escape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Taylor is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
TerGoose is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
TerGoose lands a slapping body shot.
TerGoose stuns Taylor with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Taylor fails with a takedown attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Taylor misses the body punch
and TerGoose counters with a lovely straight right hand!
TerGoose lands with a shot to the body.
Taylor is breathing heavily.
Taylor throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
It seemed like TerGoose was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kyle TerGoose dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Nick Taylor's cut.
That's time! Taylor's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


TerGoose avoids a punch combination nicely.
TerGoose doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
TerGoose lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
TerGoose tries to clinch up.
Taylor is looking to counter the offense by TerGoose and move into the clinch.
Nice shot lands for TerGoose .
Taylor throws a right and a left that TerGoose avoids nicely.
TerGoose closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Taylor! TerGoose dives in looking to finish! Taylor is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kyle TerGoose !
A less than humble Kyle TerGoose misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
In defeat, Nick Taylor stepped up to the mic, saying 'Everybody gets beat sooner or later'.
