Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alex Polyanskiy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calixte Kongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Polyanskiy comes into the arena with Oxxxymiron - Signs of life blaring out of the sound system. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Calixte Kongo!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jonathan Paton and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Polyanskiy dives in and grabs Kongo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kongo pushes down on Polyanskiy's head and hops out.
Kongo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Polyanskiy paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Polyanskiy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kongo pushes Polyanskiy away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Polyanskiy gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Polyanskiy tries to advance to mount but Kongo denies him.
Kongo is trying to work for a sweep but Polyanskiy has mounted him!
Polyanskiy working for a guillotine from mount but Kongo is in no mood to give up.
Polyanskiy is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kongo to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kongo shrugs it off.
Kongo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Polyanskiy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kongo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kongo tries to improve his position but Polyanskiy has taken his back! Polyanskiy has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Kongo tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Polyanskiy pushes Kongo away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Alex Polyanskiy!
A relieved looking Alex Polyanskiy thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
