Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cody Paris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Lawrence (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Lawrence's choice of entrance music: Shell Shocked. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cody Paris! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Arthur Lawrence! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paris shoots for a takedown but Lawrence saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Paris closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lawrence quickly recovers to half guard. Lawrence looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Lawrence trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Paris dominating with strikes here. Paris lands a heavy elbow. Paris postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lawrence looks a forlorn figure.
Paris lands a big elbow. This has been an exciting period of action! Lawrence wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Paris.
A nice elbow there by Paris. Paris controlling the pace for now. Paris misses with a head shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Paris controlling the position easily from mount. Paris is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Lawrence has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Paris postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lawrence looks a forlorn figure.
Lawrence takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Paris cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Lawrence is trying to escape the mount.
Lawrence really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Paris. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Paris scoring with strikes but Lawrence is staying in there.
Lawrence is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Paris sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Paris is in the full mount, landing strikes. Lawrence is still in real trouble! Can Paris finish him? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Paris loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Lawrence scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Paris land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Paris stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cody Paris! Cody Paris retains his welterweight title! In his post fight interview, Cody Paris started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception. Arthur Lawrence spoke after the fight, saying 'I will be back.'.
