The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimura doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Kimura fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kimura should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Kimura shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mcgregor sprawls well. Mcgregor wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kimura gets slowly back to his feet.

Kimura has hold of Mcgregor 's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Mcgregor tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Kimura cranks the arm and Mcgregor screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Mcgregor , who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Kumamoto Kimura!
Kumamoto Kimura decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
