The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz throws a sloppy head kick

and Hyde moves into the clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Hyde.

Ortiz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ortiz manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hyde on his heels. He'll look to pass Hyde's guard now, I'm sure.

Hyde wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Ortiz is now in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ortiz looks to land a strike but Hyde avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hyde tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hyde pulls Ortiz in close to his closed guard and prevents Ortiz from doing any damage or advancing position.

Ortiz is working Hyde over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Ortiz throws a big elbow that misses.

Hyde thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Ortiz drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hyde dives on top into guard.

Ortiz is looking to stand up but Hyde isn't so interested in that idea.

Ortiz wants to get back to his feet but Hyde is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Hyde is sitting in close to Ortiz's body. Ortiz has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Hyde is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Hyde is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Ortiz.
