Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kevin Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tusing Pocc!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pocc takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Pocc takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Pocc tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
An attempted straight right counter from Johnson misses the target.
Johnson lunges at Pocc with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pocc's hand.
Johnson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Pocc is looking to clinch.
The fighters circle momentarily. Johnson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Pocc dives in and grabs Johnson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes down on Pocc's head and hops out.
Johnson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Pocc looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Johnson lands a front kick.
Johnson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pocc.
It seemed like Pocc was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Johnson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pocc fails with the takedown
and Johnson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kevin Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tusing Pocc.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A cross from Johnson lands.
Johnson listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Pocc moves out of range of the body kick.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Pocc! But no joy.
We've been informed that Pocc has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Nice straight punches there by Johnson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Johnson.
Johnson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Johnson misses with a low kick as Pocc jumps back.
Johnson's corner calls for a 1-2. Johnson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Johnson is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
A lazy left from Johnson finds it's target.
Johnson throws a leg kick which misses Pocc's front leg but catches the back leg as Pocc tries to avoid it.
Pocc takes one on the button.
Johnson throws a shot to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Johnson clobbers Pocc with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Johnson lands a right hook to the body.
Johnson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pocc at a distance.
Nice shot lands for Johnson.
Pocc fails with the takedown
and Johnson counters with a nice uppercut.
Johnson scores with a nice head shot.
Pocc is rocked!
Johnson throws an overhand right that drops Pocc like a sack of potatoes! Johnson dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
