Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mike Van Dan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Even Steven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steven has chosen Bodies Hit the Floor as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Even Steven enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Van Dan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Even Steven! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steven fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Van Dan, pushing him back against the cage. Van Dan unloads a knee to the mid-section. Steven lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Van Dan can't break the clinch.
Steven is looking to break free of the clinch but Van Dan has double underhooks. Steven is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Van Dan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Steven is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Van Dan can't fight it off and eventually Steven manages to take the fight to the floor. Van Dan looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Steven is stalling in the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Van Dan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Van Dan could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Steven stays in close to Van Dan's body and controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steven slips nicely into half guard. Steven is trying to control the action in half guard but Van Dan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Van Dan actively working from the bottom here. Van Dan won't allow Steven to pass to mount. Steven is tying to control. Van Dan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Steven wants to pass the guard but Van Dan is defending well. Steven seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Van Dan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Steven is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Steven passes into side control, despite Van Dan's attempt to control the position.
Steven is looking to take a break and control but Van Dan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Van Dan tries to work over Steven's front leg with a kick but Steven checks it. Van Dan tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Steven counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Van Dan's guard now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steven controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Van Dan looking to control.
Van Dan looking for a sweep. Not yet Van Dan, not yet. Van Dan is breathing heavily. Steven throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Van Dan works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Steven passes into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Van Dan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Steven is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Van Dan! Van Dan is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Steven with good strikes from the mount here! Van Dan has given up his back here.
Steven trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Van Dan doesn't escape. Van Dan manages to reverse the position and now he's in Steven's guard. Nice work there by Van Dan.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Even Steven dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Steven rushes Van Dan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Van Dan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Steven has him pressed against the cage. Steven pulls Van Dan into guard.
Steven looking for a sweep. Not yet Steven, not yet. Van Dan trying to control the position from guard on top but Steven is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Steven is on top in guard.
Van Dan wants to sweep but no luck. Steven stands up from guard. Let's bang! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Dan with a poor takedown and Steven counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Good body shot from Steven.
Steven creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Van Dan's defenses. Van Dan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Steven lands a takedown into guard.
Steven controlling from the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steven works over Van Dan with some ground and pound from guard. Van Dan working a defensive guard here.
Steven stands up from guard. Let's bang! Steven looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Van Dan! Steven landing strikes, looking to finish!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Dan can't escape the position.
Van Dan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Steven putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Van Dan's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Steven postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Van Dan looks a forlorn figure.
Steven takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Steven landing strikes from the mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Van Dan is bucking up trying to escape but Steven cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Steven landing strikes, looking to finish! Steven breaks from Van Dan's wrist control and lands an elbow. Van Dan is looking to improve his position but Steven isn't that keen on the idea. Van Dan is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steven swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
