Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lance Kent! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kevin Galagher! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Kent really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kent fails to pull guard.
Galagher manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Kent with a flurry of punches that miss. Galagher not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kent working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Galagher looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kent is one step ahead there. Galagher trying to control the position here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Galagher has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Kent has passed into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Galagher throws Kent to one side and escapes! Galagher changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kent looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Sloppy strikes there by Galagher. Galagher in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Galagher throws an elbow but Kent slips to the side and avoids it well. Galagher tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Kent is looking to reverse the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kent looking for a sweep but Galagher has passed into full mount! Oh no! Galagher wants to control the pace but Kent is squirming around nicely. Galagher thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Galagher trying to control but Kent is having none of it. Kent is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Galagher sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Kent blocking the ground and pound. Kent tries to reverse the position but Galagher maintains control. Galagher has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Galagher looking to control but Kent is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Galagher jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kent manages to avoid the submission attempt. Galagher is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Galagher trying to control the action but Kent is working from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kevin Galagher dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Galagher shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kent's guard. Kent lands a decent shot there. Galagher trying to control but Kent is working from the bottom. Galagher sitting in guard, not really doing much. Kent tries to land a sweep but no joy. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kent looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Galagher scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Kent regains full guard. Nicely done. Galagher controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kent keeping moving, preventing Galagher from controlling successfully. Galagher has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Galagher is looking to work some ground and pound but Kent has wrist control. Galagher controlling from the top position. Kent looking for a sweep. Not yet Kent, not yet. Galagher in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Galagher avoids the body shot from Kent.
Galagher throws a body punch but Kent moves out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kent tries to bum rush Galagher with a series of wild strikes but Galagher uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Galagher closes the distance and clinches. Kent is trying to break the clinch but Galagher is controlling him. Kent wants to break free but Galagher has control.
Galagher breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kent with a body punch. A glancing blow. Lance Kent is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Galagher gets tackled into the cage by Kent. Kent maintains the clinch. Galagher decides to pull guard. Galagher bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kent's guard. Galagher sitting in guard, not really doing much. Galagher trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Galagher is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Kent presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Galagher is breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Kent is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Kent wants a takedown.
Galagher gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Kent regains guard.
Kent has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Galagher is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Galagher. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Galagher has Kent pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Galagher pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kent tumbling to the mat - Galagher dives into Kent's guard. Kent has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Galagher has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Kevin Galagher will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Galagher throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kent was covering up waiting for the punch and Galagher finishes the takedown easily into guard. Kent has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Galagher has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Galagher ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Galagher no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Galagher lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kent manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Galagher manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Galagher pulls Kent in close to his closed guard and prevents Kent from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kent preventing the sweep. Galagher takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Kent gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Galagher shoots in and gets a takedown into Kent's guard. Kent is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Galagher is aware though and is defending well. Kent trying to control the position.
Galagher wants to pass the guard but Kent is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Galagher throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kent works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Galagher trying to control the position from guard on top but Kent is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kent has a closed guard, preventing Galagher from standing up. Galagher in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Galagher is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Danga de danga de dang - Galagher scores with a four punch combination! Galagher fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kent sprawls well initially but Galagher persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Galagher is stalling here. Kent is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Galagher seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kent has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Galagher is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Galagher is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Kent is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kent with the ground and pound from mount. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kent avoids the attempt from Galagher to control. Kent blocks Galagher's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Galagher tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kent putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Kent scoring with strikes but Galagher is staying in there. Kent lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Galagher wants to hold on but Kent pushes him away.
And that's the end of the fight! Lance Kent showed his dominance in that final round. Well Galagher has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
