Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Scott Voss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kobashi Kenta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Kobashi Kenta was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Voss! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kobashi Kenta! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kenta slips a jab from Voss. And Kenta responds with a good body kick, but Voss manages to step out the way in time. Kenta misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Voss.
Voss misses with a lunging right hand
and Kenta counters with a left and a right that stings Voss. Voss shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kenta napping and manages to drive through into side control! Kenta wants to get back to his feet but Voss drags him back down. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Voss just content to control the position. Kenta takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Voss is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kenta's shoulder. That is not cool. Kenta is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Kenta is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Voss is controlling him well. Kenta on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Voss controls the position. Kenta is pushing Voss's head away, looking to escape. Voss manages to hold on to the position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Voss content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Kenta is pushing Voss's head away, looking to escape. Voss grinds an elbow into Kenta's temple. You can see the frustration on Kenta's face as Voss controls the position. Voss lands an elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kenta is pushing Voss's head away, looking to escape. Voss manages to hold on to the position though. Voss landing strikes. Voss controls the position. Voss is working Kenta over with some ground and pound from side control. Kenta is trying to escape and get back to his feet. A lull in the action here as Voss stalls from top position. Kenta is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Voss has just dragged him back down to the mat. Voss is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Kenta wants to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Voss working the head with strikes. Voss controlling the position. Kenta is trying to get back to his feet. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Voss's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Kenta is pushing Voss's head away, looking to escape. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kenta throws a push kick but Voss slaps the foot to one side. Voss keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Voss waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kenta. A jab from Voss misses. Voss decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Voss is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Kenta is trying to stand back up but Voss is controlling him
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Voss dominated that round. That's time! Voss's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Kenta uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Voss. Voss throws a right hand that Kenta ducks under and follows up with a left that Kenta also avoids with ease. Voss moves out of range as Kenta throws a body kick.
Kenta pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Kenta moves out of range of the strikes. Kenta steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Voss. Kenta looks to land a body kick but Voss moved away. Scott Voss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Voss swings for the body but Kenta moves out of range.
Voss fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kenta, pushing him back against the cage. Voss lands a body punch. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Voss as Kenta tries to tie him up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Voss presses Kenta against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Voss lands with a left to the head. Voss throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kentas head. Kenta is breathing heavily. A frustrated look appears on Kenta's face as he tries to break the clinch. Voss works on Kenta's body with a couple of short punches. A shot in the inside from Voss.
Kenta is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice left hand lands by Voss.
Kenta is still on wobbly legs! Can Voss finish him? Voss has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kenta uses from the top position. Kenta decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Voss, up you get! Voss cracks Kenta with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Kenta looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Voss finish him?
Voss jabbing away but nothing is landing. Voss gets a clinch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A short uppercut from Voss. Voss lands a big right hand that drops Kenta! The killer instinct kicks in and Voss finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Voss!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Scott Voss!
