Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Martin Fitzpatrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Skyman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Skyman will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Martin Fitzpatrick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Skyman! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Skyman shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Skyman is taking a breather. Fitzpatrick says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Fitzpatrick wants to get back to full guard. Skyman looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Skyman trying to control from Fitzpatrick's half guard. Fitzpatrick has other ideas though and has regained full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Skyman trying to control the position from guard on top but Fitzpatrick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fitzpatrick is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Skyman is controlling him. Skyman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fitzpatrick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fitzpatrick is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Fitzpatrick could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Fitzpatrick tries to pass to full mount but Skyman defends it. Fitzpatrick is just content to waste time from the top position. Skyman takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Skyman working for a triangle but Fitzpatrick defends it easily.
Fitzpatrick trying to control but Skyman is working from the bottom. Skyman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fitzpatrick is controlling him. Fitzpatrick makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Skyman keeping moving, preventing Fitzpatrick from controlling successfully. Fitzpatrick with a nice head shot there. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Fitzpatrick's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Fitzpatrick controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Skyman trying to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fitzpatrick distracts Skyman with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Fitzpatrick cracks Skyman with a solid left hand. Fitzpatrick keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Skyman's head. Skyman looks winded! Fitzpatrick connects with a couple of short punches. Fitzpatrick is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fitzpatrick postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Fitzpatrick is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Fitzpatrick sitting in guard here, content to control. Fitzpatrick slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Fitzpatrick thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Skyman is looking to regain half guard here but Fitzpatrick keeps moving and retains side control. Fitzpatrick has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Fitzpatrick is chipping away with strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fitzpatrick working the ground and pound from side control. Skyman is working to avoid the ground and pound but Fitzpatrick connects with a decent elbow. Skyman taking punishment in the form of punches.
Skyman is rocked! Skyman takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Skyman is still in real trouble! Can Fitzpatrick finish him? Fitzpatrick working the head and body with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fitzpatrick in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Skyman looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Fitzpatrick turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
