Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughs throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Thunder.
Hughs avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Thunder tests Hughs's chin there with a solid looking shot.

It looks like Mark Hughs has been cut.
Thunder tries to bum rush Hughs with a series of wild strikes but Hughs uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Hughs closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Thunder did well to prevent Hughs getting side control.

Thunder has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Hughs is on him like a limpet, forcing Thunder back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thunder tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Hughs's elbow.
Thunder misses with the head strike.
Thunder is trying to push Hughs away but Hughs has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Hughs tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Thunder avoids it.
Thunder misses with a hook from the clinch.
Hughs controlling the action here for a moment.

Hughs pulls Thunder into guard.
Thunder stops Hughs from standing up.
Hughs looking to hit a scissor sweep but Thunder is one step ahead there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hughs is on top in guard.

Hughs gets to his feet - Thunder follows without any prompting.

Hughs feints and as Thunder raises his hands in defense, Hughs changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hughs makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hughs passes Thunder's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Hughs slows the pace down in half guard.

Hughs is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Thunder is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
