Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andre Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martim Dias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andre Costa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Martim Dias! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dias takes the fight into the clinch. Costa changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dias fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Costa shoots in for a takedown but Dias shows good takedown defense. Dias throws a half hearted mid kick. Costa drops down looking for a counter takedown but Dias sprawls and moves away. Costa fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dias closes the distance and clinches. Dias manages to break the clinch.
Costa clinches up against the cage. Dias taking a breather. Dias goes for a takedown in the clinch but Costa prevents it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dias gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Costa.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andre Costa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stalling in the clinch from Dias.
That's one minute gone in the round. Costa is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dias pulls him back up using the underhooks. Dias lands with a short shot to the head. Costa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dias tries to clinch but Costa moves out of range. Dias closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dias lands in his opponent's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Dias looking to sit in guard and control but Costa gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Costa wants to stand but Dias has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Dias keeping moving, preventing Costa from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Costa is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Costa stands up over Dias, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Dias seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Costa prevents Dias from getting back to his feet. Costa wants to stand but Dias has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Costa stopping the sweep attempt from Dias. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Costa is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Costa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dias sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Costa somewhat. Dias pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dias stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dias wants it to stay on the feet. Dias shoots in for a takedown but Costa shows good takedown defense. It appears Costa was looking to counter with a kick there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Costa clinches with his opponent.
Dias jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Costa walks away with a smile on his face. Dias gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Dias wants to clinch. Dias pushes Costa up against the cage in a clinch. Costa stops a takedown attempt from Dias.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Costa decides to pull guard. Costa keeping full guard, as Dias tries to pass. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Costa not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Martim Dias will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Costa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dias. Costa lunges at Dias with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Dias's hand. Costa is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Dias fails in his attempt to clinch. Dias misses with a kick to the body and Costa counters with a shoot takedown. Dias fights it but they end up in guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dias can do anything to dispel that myth. Costa is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Costa seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dias for as long as he can get away with. Dias tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Costa trying to control but Dias is working from the bottom. Dias wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Dias will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dias drives through with a takedown into Costa's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Costa is looking to sweep but instead, Dias has passed into half guard.
Dias working over Costa with some ground and pound. Costa looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Costa gets full guard. Dias trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Costa is trying to keep Dias in close.
Costa pulls Dias in close to his closed guard and prevents Dias from doing any damage or advancing position. Dias looking to sit in guard and control but Costa gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Costa wants to control from the top but Dias keeps moving. Dias looking for a guillotine here but Costa defends easily.
Costa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dias swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Dias has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Costa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Costa looking to control the position here, rather than advance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andre Costa dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Dias wants to clinch. Costa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dias moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Costa has his takedown stuffed and Dias connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Costa closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dias's guard. Dias is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Costa is controlling him. Costa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dias has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Costa has managed to get both his arms back between Dias's legs - danger averted. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dias is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Dias has his foot on Costa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Costa works his way back into a safe position though. Dias is trying to hold Costa in close to prevent damage but Costa has managed to pass into half guard.
Dias is looking for a sweep. Costa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dias wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Costa seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Costa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Dias is not content to let Costa control the position. Dias tries to get back to half guard but can't. You can see the frustration on Dias's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Costa trying to control the action but Dias is working from the bottom. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Costa. Costa goes for a double leg but Dias avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dias continues to drive forward. Dias tries to counter by closing the distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andre Costa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Costa looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Costa has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dias is proving hard to escape from.
