Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ichiro Maki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Patrovski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ichiro Maki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yuri Patrovski! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Patrovski blocks a head kick by Maki.

Ichiro Maki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Patrovski tries to clinch up but Maki circles away and keeps his distance. Patrovski gets in close and instigates a clinch. Maki prevents a takedown attempt there.

Maki blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Patrovski pulls guard effortlessly. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Maki won't allow Patrovski to get back to his feet. Maki loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Maki has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Patrovski wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Maki avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Maki postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Patrovski is looking to stand up but Maki isn't so interested in that idea. Maki working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maki trying to control but Patrovski is working from the bottom. Maki is working Patrovski over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Maki throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Patrovski works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Maki wants to control from the top but Patrovski keeps moving. Patrovski is edging up against the ropes. He's using the ropes to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Maki tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows. Patrovski looks gassed! Maki tries to land knees in the clinch but Patrovski avoids the damage to the body. Maki gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Yuri Patrovski has been cut. Maki missing with knees to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Maki misses with a knee to the head. Patrovski fails to pull guard.
Maki wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Patrovski has had enough of the clinch but Maki keeps him there for the moment. Maki using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Patrovski has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Maki lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Patrovski or not. Patrovski blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Patrovski's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Patrovski. Ichiro Maki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yuri Patrovski. Nice uppercut there from Patrovski. Maki drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Maki decides to stand back up. Patrovski misses with a wild combination.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Patrovski advances to half guard. Patrovski passes to full mount! Maki defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Patrovski. Maki is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Patrovski lands a nice shot to the head. Patrovski landing punches. Maki tries to buck Patrovski off but he can't manage it. Maki is wriggling around trying to escape.
Maki knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Patrovski on the ground. Patrovski cracks Maki with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Patrovski working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Maki turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Patrovski off and cradles Maki's limp body as Patrovski celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Yuri Patrovski!
