Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Santiago Guzman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uriel Ferdinand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Santiago Guzman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Uriel Ferdinand! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guzman gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ferdinand to score an easy takedown into full guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Guzman holds on and takes a little breather. Ferdinand trying to control the position from guard on top but Guzman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Guzman is adopting a defensive guard. Ferdinand pushing down on Guzman's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Ferdinand wants to work for an arm triangle but Guzman is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Guzman desperately trying to maintain half guard. Guzman is not content to let Ferdinand control the position. Guzman holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guzman has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ferdinand throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Ferdinand throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Guzman is looking for a sweep. Ferdinand is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ferdinand is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Guzman sees it coming and defends easily. Guzman is concentrating on defense, preventing Ferdinand from advancing position. Ferdinand is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Guzman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ferdinand. Ferdinand is working for a kimura but Guzman is defending it quite comfortably.

Guzman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ferdinand throws a strike but Guzman avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Guzman has his hands on Ferdinand's head, controlling the position. Guzman continues to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ferdinand is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Guzman is pulling down on Ferdinand's head. It's preventing any offense from Ferdinand, at least for the moment. Guzman is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Ferdinand with a nice head shot there. Ferdinand being controlled here momentarily. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Guzman managing to control the position. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Ferdinand drops back looking for a leg! Guzman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Guzman manages to kick Ferdinand off! Ferdinand jumps back into Guzman's guard. Ferdinand postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ferdinand sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Guzman's guard. Ferdinand seems to be working for a kimura but Guzman defends the submission attempt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ferdinand not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Guzman wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. A left and a right from Ferdinand both land. Nice combination. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Ferdinand. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. The fighters circle momentarily. Ferdinand darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Ferdinand lands a glancing blow to the side of Guzman's head. Guzman moves in looking to clinch but Ferdinand pushes him off. Ferdinand appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Guzman tries to sprawl but Ferdinand drives through with a takedown into half guard. Ferdinand missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Ferdinand thows a huge punch but Guzman dodges it nicely.
Guzman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ferdinand trying to mount his opponent but Guzman defends it. Guzman preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Guzman wants to control but Ferdinand is keeping busy and won't allow it. Ferdinand not landing any meaningful shots this time. Ferdinand is breathing heavily.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Guzman wants to get back to full guard. Ferdinand perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ferdinand working Guzman over with strikes. Ferdinand looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ferdinand drops an elbow to the side of Guzman's head. Guzman trying to hold on to Ferdinand's head to control him but Ferdinand postures up.
Guzman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Ferdinand is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Ferdinand seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Guzman is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
