Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Akeen Coker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Star Dust (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dust is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: For Heavy Metal we will die!. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 8 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Akeen Coker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Star Dust!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dust throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Coker was covering up waiting for the punch and Dust finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Coker is looking for a triangle but Dust pushes his legs off easily.
Coker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dust is one step ahead there.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dust's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Coker controlling Dust's posture.
Coker is trying to control the position but Dust postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Coker looking for a guillotine here but Dust defends easily.
Dust looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Dust is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Dust has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Dust passes Coker's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Coker slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Dust trying to control but Coker is working from the bottom.
Dust missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Coker looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Coker is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Coker is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dust is aware though and is defending well.
Coker is controlling Dust's posture.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Dust keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Coker's head.

Coker is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dust defends well.

Dust drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Coker dives on top into guard.

Dust is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Dust has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Coker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dust wants to sweep but no luck.
Dust working a defensive guard but Coker passes into half guard.
Coker is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dust is looking for a sweep. Coker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Coker is thwarting Dust's attempts to control the position.
Coker is nestled in close to Dust, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dust looking for submissions off his back.
Coker prevents Dust from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Star Dust will probably get the nod.
That's time! Coker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Coker misses with a straight right.
Dust lands a head kick!
The fighters circle momentarily. Dust darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Dust scores with a leg kick.
Dust jabs Coker right on the nose. Coker blinks but takes it well.
Dust lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Coker circles away quickly and effectively.
Dust blocks the body kick.
Coker throws a push kick but Dust slaps the foot to one side.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Dust, right into the meat.
Nice sprawl there from Coker as Dust shoots in.
Dust misses with a straight left.
An inside leg kick from Dust misses.
A thudding body kick lands there by Coker!
Dust moves out of range of the strikes.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Coker lands a nice shot to the body.
Coker moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Coker on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

A looping hook to the body misses from Coker. Dust does a little dance to reset his feet.
Coker avoids the body shot from Dust.
Coker misses with a low kick as Dust jumps back.
Dust replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Coker blocks it well.
Star Dust seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Coker takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Coker defending well as Dust loads up on a big left hand.
Dust cracks Coker with a good jab.
Dust throws a body punch but Coker moves out of range.
Coker on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
That kick from Coker tenderised Dust's leg. Dust is trying to keep his angry face on.
Dust has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Coker.
Dust lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Coker digs a good body shot into Dust's ribs.
Dust misses with a kick to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dust. Coker does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dust cracks Coker with a good jab.
Star Dust seems to be getting the better of the standup.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Coker throws a big shot that misses.

Jab, jab by Coker - just one landing.
Dust shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Coker throws a head kick that misses.
A little jabbing left from Dust on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Coker scores with a decent looking hook.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Coker.
Dust throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Dust darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Coker is looking to land body kicks.
Dust tries to close the distance and clinch up but Coker swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Dust pushes Coker up against the cage in a clinch.
Dust lands a nice shot to the body.
Coker tries for a takedown. No joy.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Coker.
Coker working aggressively here.
A body shot lands from Dust.
Coker throws a head punch that misses.

Dust tightens his grip and picks Coker up, before dumping him to the ground. Coker manages to land in guard.
Coker looking for a sweep. Not yet Coker, not yet.
Dust wants to control from the top but Coker keeps moving.
Dust postures up in Coker's guard and throws a big left but Coker blocks it.
Dust throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Coker has control of Dust's left arm, preventing Dust from doing any damage.
Dust throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Coker works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Coker is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Coker looks for the body kick but Dust saw that one coming.
Dust throws a counter combo.
Dust tests Coker's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Coker fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Star Dust showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Dust misses with a wild combination.
Coker has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dust finds it's way round the side to connect with Coker's head.
Coker lands with a cross.
Dust blocks the body kick.
Sloppy strikes from Coker. Those never looked like landing.
Dust uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Dust has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Coker tries a head kick but it misses.
Coker misses with a body kick.
Coker throws a nice outside leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dust misses with an uppercut.
Dust tests Coker's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Good leg kick by Coker there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Danga de danga de dang - Dust scores with a four punch combination!

Coker gets the takedown into side control.
Dust tries to buck Coker off but Coker is having none of it.
Coker scoring with punches from side control.
Coker lands some shots froms side control.
Dust is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Coker cracks Dust with a big right hand but Dust just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Dust regains half guard.
Coker is nestled in close to Dust, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Dust wants to sweep here but Coker controlling him for the moment.

Dust has his foot on Coker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Coker works his way back into a safe position though.
Dust keeping moving, preventing Coker from controlling successfully.

Dust looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Coker is defending well. Dust quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Coker has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Dust celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Star Dust!
Star Dust was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
