Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Espo Jaksinen! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sergio Aguilar! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aguilar takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. A punch lands to the side of Jaksinen 's head but he takes it in his stride. Jaksinen connects with a right hand. Aguilar shakes it off. We've been told by Jaksinen's head coaches at England Fight Club MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Aguilar missing with a left hand there. Jaksinen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A punch combination from Jaksinen misses. Jaksinen misses with a straight right. Sergio Aguilar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Aguilar waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Jaksinen. Jaksinen slips a straight right by Aguilar. Jaksinen tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Aguilar manages to circle out of the way. Aguilar dips to his left and cracks Jaksinen with an uppercut! Jaksinen takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Aguilar is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jaksinen sees it coming and defends easily. Jaksinen tries to roll over but Aguilar keeps him under control. Aguilar is trying to control the action in half guard but Jaksinen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Aguilar wants to pass to mount but Jaksinen is defending the position. Jaksinen wants to get back to his feet. Aguilar is keen to just control but Jaksinen is a slippery customer. Jaksinen tries to kick Aguilar off but Aguilar keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Aguilar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jaksinen keeps working.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. A swing and a miss from Aguilar. Aguilar gets a double leg takedown into Jaksinen's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jaksinen is pressing down on Aguilar's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Aguilar is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jaksinen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jaksinen has escaped and now he's on top! Jaksinen trying to control but Aguilar is working from the bottom. Jaksinen preventing the sweep. Aguilar had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jaksinen defends it easily. Jaksinen controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Jaksinen won't allow Aguilar to sweep him here. A close round but Sergio Aguilar will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Aguilar loads up on a big right hand but Jaksinen slips the punch. As Aguilar backs away, Jaksinen returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Jaksinen tries a head kick but it misses.
Aguilar darts in and clinches Jaksinen up against the ropes. Aguilar tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jaksinen smiles and moves away.
Aguilar shoots in for a takedown but Jaksinen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Aguilar takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Aguilar throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Aguilar cracks Jaksinen with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes. Jaksinen takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. A big right from Aguilar misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aguilar connects with a crisp jab. Aguilar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jaksinen moves away. Jaksinen throws an off balance right hand
and Aguilar counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jaksinen won't be happy with that. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jaksinen can't do much from the bottom here.

Jaksinen is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Jaksinen stands and throws Aguilar's legs to the side, diving into side control. Aguilar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jaksinen is one step ahead there. Jaksinen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jaksinen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jaksinen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Aguilar keeping moving, preventing Jaksinen from controlling successfully. Aguilar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jaksinen's guard.

The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Aguilar trying to mount his opponent but Jaksinen defends it. The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Aguilar throws a lazy right hand but Jaksinen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Jaksinen throwing a counter right hand but Aguilar manages to avoid it. Jaksinen keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Aguilar.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Sergio Aguilar. I think Aguilar has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
