Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Antonio Lobo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Don Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lobo finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Lobo lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Lobo scores with a nice body kick.
Lobo tried to score with a low kick but Johnson checks it.
Good work by Johnson as he checks the leg kick.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Johnson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

and Johnson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lobo's guard.

Johnson is fighting to break Lobo's control of his arms but Lobo is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lobo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Johnson has managed to get both his arms back between Lobo's legs - danger averted.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johnson wants to take Lobo's back here but Lobo is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Johnson tries to control but Lobo wriggling away.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Lobo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Johnson wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

Lobo has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Johnson is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Johnson struggling to keep hold of the position.
Lobo is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Lobo wants to control his opponent's hands but Johnson gets his hands free.
Lobo turns into Johnson and is now in his guard.

Lobo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Johnson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Lobo content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Johnson has locked up a guillotine! Johnson's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Lobo is holding on here and Johnson must be using up a lot of energy. Lobo has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Johnson gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

During a confident post fight interview, Don Johnson thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
