Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fernando Gonzalez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Slade Lassiter! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gonzalez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lassiter looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Gonzalez tries to clinch but fails miserably and Lassiter counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Lassiter feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Gonzalez sprawling to the canvas! Gonzalez rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Lassiter finish him?!
It looks like Fernando Gonzalez has been cut. Lassiter lands a slapping body shot.
Gonzalez takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lassiter cracks Gonzalez with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Gonzalez looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Lassiter finish him?
Lassiter drops Gonzalez with a straight right hand, right on the button! Lassiter follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Slade Lassiter! In his post fight interview, Slade Lassiter started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
