Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matthys Malherbe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sheldon Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sheldon Cooper is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Matthys Malherbe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sheldon Cooper! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cooper moves into the clinch. Malherbe is trying to trip Cooper. He has hold of a leg but Cooper is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Malherbe persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Cooper working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Malherbe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Malherbe manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Cooper has his foot on Malherbe's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Malherbe works his way back into a safe position though. Malherbe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cooper is keeping the position for now. Malherbe trying to control but Cooper is working from the bottom. Malherbe looking to sit in guard and control but Cooper gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Malherbe looking to control.
Malherbe pulls Cooper in close to prevent any damage. Cooper wants to control from the top but Malherbe keeps moving. Cooper preventing the sweep. Cooper loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cooper postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Cooper has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cooper looking to sit in guard and control but Malherbe gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Malherbe trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Cooper bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Malherbe's guard. Cooper works a leg free and moves into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Malherbe is looking for a sweep. Cooper is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Malherbe is refusing to be controlled, as Cooper sits in half guard. Cooper is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cooper is looking for a kimura but Malherbe is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cooper to get the leverage. Cooper missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cooper takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Cooper working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Malherbe is trying to control but can't.
Cooper is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Cooper has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Malherbe is breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Malherbe holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Cooper tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Cooper is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Malherbe can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Malherbe blocking the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cooper looking for a guillotine from mount but Malherbe is having none of it. Cooper wants to control the pace but Malherbe is squirming around nicely. Cooper prevents Malherbe from getting the reversal. Malherbe is controlling an arm, preventing Cooper from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Cooper has hold of Malherbe's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Malherbe manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cooper looking to control and managing it successfully. Malherbe definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Cooper looking to isolate an arm here. Malherbe doesn't see it coming and as Cooper extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Cooper!
