Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcel Capuchin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Francisco Costa!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Capuchin shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Capuchin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Capuchin throws a right hand that misses
and Capuchin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Costa feints a jab promting Capuchin to slip. Costa then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Capuchin slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Costa gets control of Capuchin's arms and successfully pulls guard. Costa will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Capuchin is fighting to break Costa's control of his arms but Costa is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Capuchin is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at HFC Training Center that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Costa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Capuchin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Costa manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Capuchin manages to get himself to full guard.

Costa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Capuchin sprawls well initially but Costa persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Capuchin manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Costa keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Costa has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Costa goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Costa swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Costa connects with a looping right hand.

Capuchin tries to clinch but Costa moves out of range.

Costa is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Capuchin rather than just go for the knockout.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Capuchin just misses with a elbow thrown towards Costa's brow.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Costa is looking to cinch up a triangle. Capuchin throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Costa's body to avoid the submission. Costa has instead reached around Capuchin's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Costa arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Francisco Costa decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
Marcel Capuchin spoke after the fight, saying 'He bit me when the ref wasn't looking! Look at these bite marks!'.
