Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gunji Koizumi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hassan Dehu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gunji Koizumi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hassan Dehu! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koizumi moves in looking to clinch but Dehu pushes him off. Koizumi keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dehu. Koizumi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. It seemed like Dehu was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Dehu throws a body shot but no joy. Koizumi lands with a nice body kick. Koizumi has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Butcher's Block in the buildup to the fight. Koizumi steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dehu. Koizumi throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Dehu counters with a stiff right hand. Koizumi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Dehu doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Koizumi drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Koizumi thumps Dehu with a low kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Koizumi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dehu quickly recovers to half guard. Dehu manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Koizumi keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dehu has a couple of punches blocked by Koizumi.
Koizumi is trying to pull guard but Dehu has him pressed against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gunji Koizumi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dehu tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Koizumi leaning his opponent against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koizumi has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dehu is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Koizumi tries for a takedown. No joy.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Koizumi tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Koizumi is working for takedown but Dehu is calmly controlling the position for now. Dehu working aggressively here.
Dehu misses with a short punch on the inside. Koizumi tries to land knees in the clinch but Dehu avoids the damage to the body. Dehu has a couple of punches blocked by Koizumi.
Dehu lands a hook to the side of the head. Dehu cracks Koizumi with a nice body shot. Koizumi wants the takedown. Dehu is fighting it off but Koizumi persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Dehu's guard against the cage. Dehu wants to stand but Koizumi is controlling the position. Koizumi forces his way into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dehu wants to get back to his feet. Koizumi is pressing down on Dehu's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dehu is holding on for now. Dehu is trying to escape back to his feet but Koizumi uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Dehu felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Dehu is trying to buck Koizumi off. Dehu tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dehu is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Dehu preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Koizumi. Dehu is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Koizumi off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. What can Dehu do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Will Koizumi go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Koizumi cracks Dehu with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Dehu is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Koizumi controlling from mount. Dehu really wants to buck Koizumi off and get back to his feet. Dehu is squirming around, avoiding Koizumi's attempts to control the action. Dehu squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Koizumi tries to control but Dehu wriggling away. Koizumi landing strikes from the mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Gunji Koizumi will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Dehu throws a big shot that misses. Dehu stuffs the takedown. Dehu looks to throw the jab but Koizumi is out of range. Dehu throws a body punch but Koizumi moves out of range. Dehu throws a looping overhand right but Koizumi ducks down to avoid it. Koizumi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Gunji Koizumi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Koizumi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That kick from Koizumi tenderised Dehu's leg. Dehu is trying to keep his angry face on. Dehu throws a shot to the body.

Dehu uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Koizumi. Koizumi goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Dehu throws out a counter right but Koizumi avoids it with no problem.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Koizumi slips a straight right by Dehu. Koizumi looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Koizumi misses with a leg kick and Koizumi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dehu takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Dehu missing with a left hand there. Koizumi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Koizumi jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Dehu takes a swing at Koizumi's ribcage but misses. Koizumi lands with a kick to the ribs.
Koizumi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Dehu let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. A jab from Dehu does it's job there. Dehu blocks a low kick nicely. Koizumi throws a leg kick but Dehu sees it coming and checks it nicely. Dehu looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Koizumi scores with a leg kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Koizumi takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Koizumi tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dehu defends well and Koizumi ends up having to push Dehu into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Dehu drops Koizumi with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Koizumi looks back up at him and smiles so Dehu waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Koizumi is rocked!
It looks like Gunji Koizumi has been cut. Dehu drops Koizumi with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Koizumi! Dehu dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hassan Dehu! Hassan Dehu decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
