Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Winston Churchill!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Churchill dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Romero looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Churchill throws a lazy head kick
and Churchill takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Churchill rushes Romero and presses him up against the cage.
Churchill working aggressively here.
Romero lands a shoulder strike.
Churchill blocks an uppercut.
Romero struggles to land a body shot inside as Churchill controls his hands.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Churchill.

Churchill swings wildly with an uppercut but Romero uses good head movement to avoid it.

Churchill tries to break free but Romero pushes him back against the cage.

Churchill wants to counter with a clinch but Romero pushes him away.

and Churchill moves into the clinch.

Churchill tries to throw a body punch but Romero avoids it by throwing Churchill back against the cage.

Romero creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Churchill's defenses.
Romero doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Romero creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Churchill pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nice uppercut there from Churchill.

Romero throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Romero tries to clinch but Churchill is having none of it.
Romero lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Churchill circles away quickly and effectively.

Romero tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Churchill has a couple of punches blocked by Romero.
Romero tries to throw a body punch but Churchill avoids it by throwing Romero back against the cage.
Romero lands a body punch in the clinch.
Romero pushes off an throws an elbow but Churchill leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Romero can't find room to land a body shot as Churchill controls the action.

Romero closes the distance and pushes Churchill back into the cage.
With the fighters up against the cage, Romero throws an elbow but misses.

Romero tries to work over Churchill's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Romero lands a hook that snaps the head of Churchill backwards.
Churchill takes an elbow to the temple.
Romero throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Churchill throws a leg kick but Romero checks it.
Churchill takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Romero throws an off balance right hand
and Churchill counters with an inside leg kick.
Romero uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Churchill has time to react.


Churchill is rocked!
Churchill takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Churchill is still on wobbly legs! Can Romero finish him?
and Romero counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Churchill! He's just covering up as Romero starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nicodemo Romero!
