Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Damon Donovan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Ferrari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Damon Donovan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tony Ferrari! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ferrari closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ferrari jumps into guard, dragging Donovan to the mat.
Ferrari can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Donovan controls the pace. Donovan stands and steps away. Ferrari gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Excellent takedown into side control there by Ferrari. Donovan throws Ferrari to one side and escapes! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ferrari shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Donovan napping and manages to drive through into side control! Donovan bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
That's one minute gone in the round. Ferrari throws the kick towards the body but Donovan avoids it. Ferrari rushes Donovan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Donovan successfully pulls guard.

Ferrari working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Ferrari got a little sloppy there for a moment and Donovan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ferrari has managed to get both his arms back between Donovan's legs - danger averted. Donovan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ferrari looking to sit in guard and control but Donovan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Donovan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Ferrari wants to sweep but no luck. Donovan being controlled here momentarily. Ferrari is letting Donovan control him for a moment. Donovan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Ferrari is looking to regain half guard here but Donovan keeps moving and retains side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Donovan trying to control the position but Ferrari is working away. Donovan is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ferrari is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Ferrari looks to move to half guard but instead Donovan has passed into mount! Damn! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Donovan in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Ferrari seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Donovan has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Ferrari is positioning himself to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Donovan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ferrari knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Donovan lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Ferrari down.

Donovan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Donovan wants to control but Ferrari is keeping him busy. That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Donovan is looking to take a break and control but Ferrari is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Donovan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Donovan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Ferrari is looking to get back to his feet here but Donovan is keeping cool and he's managed to take Ferrari's back. Donovan is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Donovan punches the canvas rather than the man. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Donovan thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Donovan has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Ferrari's body.

A head kick from Ferrari lands but Donovan takes it in his stride. Donovan gets tackled into the cage by Ferrari. Ferrari maintains the clinch. Ferrari tries to stall but Donovan uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. You can see the frustration on Ferrari's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Ferrari covering up well and avoiding damage. Donovan controls the position. Donovan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ferrari for as long as he can get away with. Donovan scores with strikes from the back.

And that's the end of the fight! Damon Donovan showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Donovan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
