Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Tuffs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sultan Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramirez has chosen Down with the sickness as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tuffs thows a left - swing and a miss! Tuffs looks for a takedown but Ramirez sprawls well. Tuffs looks for a takedown but Ramirez sprawls well. Tuffs will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trevor Tuffs. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tuffs rushes Ramirez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A right hook to the body lands for Tuffs.

Ramirez is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Tuffs can't fight it off and eventually Ramirez manages to take the fight to the floor. Tuffs looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Ramirez distracts Tuffs with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Ramirez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Ramirez is in close to Tuffs's body, working some short punches and elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ramirez stopping the sweep attempt from Tuffs. Ramirez landing with the ground and pound. Ramirez preventing the sweep. Ramirez throwing strikes but missing. Ramirez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ramirez works over Tuffs with some ground and pound from guard. Tuffs is breathing heavily. Ramirez tries to free his leg and advance position but Tuffs is retaining full guard. Tuffs trying to control the position.
Ramirez stands and throws Tuffs's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tuffs takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Ramirez tries for a kimura but Tuffs is defending well. Tuffs tries to improve position but can't. Tuffs isn't going anywhere. Ramirez avoids the strikes from the bottom by Tuffs. Ramirez throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Ramirez gets to mount! Tuffs was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Ramirez lands a nice shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ramirez scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Ramirez is in the full mount, landing strikes. Ramirez scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Tuffs?

Ramirez working for a submission but Tuffs is keeping him at bay. Ramirez landing strikes from the mount. Tuffs is trying desperately to improve position. Tuffs manages to regain half guard. Good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tuffs has one foot on Ramirez's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Ramirez stuffs the takedown attempt from Tuffs. Tuffs gets slowly back to his feet. Ramirez gets caught flat footed, as Tuffs shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Tuffs throws a big right hand that misses. Tuffs wants to stand but Ramirez is controlling his posture from full guard. Tuffs keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ramirez's head. Tuffs is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Tuffs trying to control the position from guard on top but Ramirez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sultan Ramirez dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Tuffs wants to clinch up but Ramirez keeps it at a distance. Nice takedown defense from Ramirez. No joy for Tuffs on that attempt. Ramirez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Tuffs tries to clinch but Ramirez is having none of it. Tuffs tries to clinch but Ramirez moves out of range. Tuffs shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ramirez pinned against the cage. Ramirez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ramirez scores with a takedown into Tuffs's guard. Ramirez content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Tuffs keeping full guard, as Ramirez tries to pass. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tuffs is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ramirez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ramirez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tuffs swivels though and keeps the full guard. Tuffs controls Ramirez momentarily but Ramirez frees himself. Ramirez with a flurry of punches that miss.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Tuffs misses with a takedown attempt and Tuffs takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trevor Tuffs. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ramirez misses with a left hand and Tuffs counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Tuffs. Ramirez has momentary wrist control but Tuffs slips an elbow through the middle. Ramirez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tuffs wants to control from the top but Ramirez keeps moving. Tuffs won't allow Ramirez to sweep him here. Tuffs thows a big elbow that misses. Ramirez is looking for a triangle but Tuffs pushes his legs off easily.
Ramirez is looking to sinch up a triangle. Tuffs throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Ramirez's body to avoid the submission. Ramirez has instead reached around Tuffs's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Ramirez arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
