PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Julio Petersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reggie Grimdal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Reggie Grimdal was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Julio Petersen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Reggie Grimdal!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Atkins and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grimdal clinches up with Petersen and pushes him back against the cage.
Petersen is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Grimdal is defending well.
Grimdal with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Petersen is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Grimdal pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Grimdal throws an elbow that misses.
Grimdal trying to land knees to the body.
Petersen wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Grimdal keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Petersen's efforts to push away.
Petersen is trying to pull guard but Grimdal turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Julio Petersen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A short left from Grimdal.
Grimdal creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Grimdal throws an elbow but it misses.
Petersen dodges an elbow strike from Grimdal.
Petersen takes a knee to the side of the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grimdal unloads a knee to the mid-section. Petersen lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Grimdal lands an elbow just above Petersen 's eye.


It looks like Julio Petersen has been cut.
Petersen is breathing heavily.
Petersen avoids the elbow strike from Grimdal, against the cage.

Grimdal manages to break the clinch.

Grimdal darts in and clinches Petersen up against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Petersen avoids a wild elbow strike from Grimdal.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Still in the clinch, Grimdal scores with a nice short uppercut.

Grimdal breaks the clinch.

Grimdal pushes Petersen up against the cage in a clinch.
Petersen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Grimdal avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Grimdal breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Whack! Grimdal lands a heavy head kick that drops Petersen. The ref tackles Grimdal to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Petersen was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Reggie Grimdal!
