Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pako Laine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kristof Sienly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laine comes into the arena with Nikke Ankara - Värifilmi blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pako Laine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kristof Sienly!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Igor Prikhodko and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laine bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sienly's head backwards.
Sienly defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Laine.
Sienly throws a leg kick that is checked
and Laine counters with a nice body kick.
Laine staying out of range there.
Laine slips a jab from Sienly.
Sienly slips under a jab.
Sienly misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sienly fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Laine looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Sienly scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Sienly connects with an inside leg kick.
Laine misses with a hook.
Laine moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Sienly circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sienly checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Sienly has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Laine connects with a leg kick. Sienly looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sienly tries a head kick but it misses.
Kristof Sienly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Laine misses the jab.
Laine fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
And Sienly tries to counter it with a takedown but Laine pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Sienly ducks under a wild hook from Laine.

Sienly lands with a nice body punch.
Sienly missing with a left hand there. Laine was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
No joy there for Laine, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Laine slips a straight right by Sienly.
Sienly ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Laine moves away.

Sienly turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Sienly slips a jab and a cross from Laine.
Laine fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sienly manages to avoid it.
Sienly staying out of range there.
Laine is looking to chop away at Sienly's legs.
Sienly throws a big counter head kick but Laine avoids it with no problem.
Laine lands a front kick.
Sienly throws a lazy right hand but Laine sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Laine attempts a counter takedown but Sienly avoids it well and moves away.
Sienly tries a head kick but it misses.
Sienly scores with a jab.
Laine lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Laine misses with a straight right.
Sienly comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Laine slips under a jab from Sienly.
Sienly swings for the body but Laine moves out of range.

Laine uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sienly.
Sienly throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Laine throws a sloppy head kick and Sienly moves out of range easily.
Sienly feints a counter leg kick.
Laine throws an off balance right hand

and Sienly counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sienly.
Laine lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Sienly escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Laine gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Laine passes Sienly's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Sienly is not content to let Laine control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sienly actively working from the bottom here.
Sienly is refusing to be controlled, as Laine sits in half guard.
Sienly tries to roll over but Laine keeps him under control.
Sienly wants to control but Laine is keeping busy.

Sienly looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Laine thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Sienly is trying to get back to full guard.
Sienly is trying to control but can't.
Sienly is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Laine's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Laine's back!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Laine breaks Sienly's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Laine pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sienly is keeping the position for now.

Sienly is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sienly looking to hit a scissor sweep but Laine is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Laine trying to control but Sienly is working from the bottom.

Sienly isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Laine stacks Sienly on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Laine!
Sienly defending against the ground and pound.

Laine tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Laine has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
You can see the frustration on Sienly's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Pako Laine will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Laine scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Sienly takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Sienly keeps Laine at a distance using the push kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Sienly.
Laine throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Sienly is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Sienly feints and then cracks Laine's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Laine down.
Sienly drops his hands momentarily and Laine takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Laine clinches up with Sienly and pushes him back against the cage.

Sienly is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Laine is defending well.
Laine presses Sienly against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Laine lands a right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Laine unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Sienly misses with a punch to the body.
Sienly lands a hook that snaps the head of Laine backwards.

Sienly swings wildly with an uppercut but Laine uses good head movement to avoid it.
I was talking to Laine's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Pako Laine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kristof Sienly.
Laine makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Sienly tries for a takedown but Laine manages to get underhooks.

Sienly gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sienly is posturing up here but Laine has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Sienly tries to roll out but it's too tight and Sienly has to tap! Slick submission there by Laine!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Pako Laine!
After the fight, Pako Laine was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
