The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Schwartz is trying to defend but Gracie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Gracie is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Schwartz has managed to free his arm - good work.
Gracie is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Schwartz sees it coming and defends easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie tries to stand and escape but Schwartz actually recovers to full guard.

Gracie is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Schwartz is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Schwartz has escaped and now he's on top!

Schwartz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Schwartz has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Schwartz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gracie is looking for a triangle but Schwartz pushes his legs off easily.
Schwartz is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Schwartz throws an elbow that misses. Gracie uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Schwartz's guard. Nice move by Gracie!

Royce Gracie dominated that round.
That's time! Schwartz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Schwartz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Schwartz wants to get up but he can't break Gracie's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Schwartz throws a strike but Gracie rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Gracie closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Schwartz's guard.

Gracie drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Gracie seems to have locked his on tight now - Schwartz screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Gracie, as he picks up the win!
