Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Isaias Christian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimmy James has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Isaias Christian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy James!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Bruno Hogan and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James looking to score a takedown here. Christian is defending well but James drives through and ends up in Christian's guard.
Christian throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Christian will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Christian is trying to keep James in close.
James wants to pass the guard but Christian is keeping the position.

James is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Christian closes the distance and clinches up with James, looking for a takedown. Christian pushes James against the cage but James circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
James throws a counter combo.

James moves into range and clinches up with Christian.
Christian tries to pull guard but James won't allow it.

James jumps guard and drags Christian to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

James has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Christian off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Christian avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

James throws his legs up looking for a submission but Christian uses it to pass to side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
James can't do much from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


James uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Christian.

James has closed the distance and engaged Christian in a clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Christian.

Christian wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
James looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Christian tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. James smiles and moves away.

Christian wants to get back to his feet but James is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
James slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Christian knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for James on the ground.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
James takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

James closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Christian's guard.
Christian is looking to stand up but James isn't so interested in that idea.
Christian trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
James controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Christian wants to sweep here but James controlling him for the moment.

James gets to his feet. Christian looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Christian gets caught napping as James dives in and scores a takedown. Christian manages to retain guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as James accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Christian wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and James manages to pass to side control.
Well, if James is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Jimmy James showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

James works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Christian is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and James dives into side control.

Christian is looking to reverse the position.
James throws an elbow but Christian slips to the side and avoids it well.
Christian dodges the ground and pound from James.
The referee asks James politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. James prefers to stall for the moment though.
Christian tries to control the position but he's not in luck - James easily slips into full mount!
Christian is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
James throwing strikes here but Christian is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Christian is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

James looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
James takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Isaias Christian has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jimmy James is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Christian's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Jimmy James comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well James has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
