Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Watts!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watts throws a combination that misses
and Watts takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Watts shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Morse makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Morse moves out of range of the body kick.

Morse moves into the clinch successfully.

Morse pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Joe Watts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Watts closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Morse is looking to improve his position.
Morse flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Watts wants to control but Morse is keeping him busy.
Watts looks winded!

Morse looking for submissions off his back.
Watts is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Morse is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Watts pulls his head out easily.
Watts blocks the strikes from Morse.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Morse is defending against the submission attempts here by Watts.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Watts stands up from half guard.
Watts tries to clinch up.
Morse changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Watts tries to avoid it but Morse manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Watts to the ground. Watts escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Watts shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Morse has hold of Watts's hands but Watts slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Watts is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Watts trying to mount his opponent but Morse defends it.
Morse might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Watts prevents Morse from improving his position.

Morse looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Morse tries to roll over but Watts keeps him under control.
Morse knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Watts on the ground.

Watts decides to stand up.
Watts tries a head kick but it misses.
As Watts tries to get set, Morse tries to push him back and clinch up but Watts manages to avoid the attempt.

Watts gets the takedown into side control.

Watts blocks the strikes from Morse.
Watts scores with punches from side control.
Morse can't do much from the bottom here.
Morse tries to buck Watts off but Watts is having none of it.
Morse tries to escape but Watts is in control.

Watts stands up.

Watts pushes Morse up against the cage in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Watts dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Watts decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Watts winds up and cracks Morse with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Watts gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Morse gets caught flat footed, as Watts shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Morse keeping moving, preventing Watts from controlling successfully.

Morse looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Watts passes into half guard.
Morse pushes Watts off looking to stand but Watts dives back in and keeps control.
Watts wants to stand up but Morse is controlling the position.
Watts is breathing heavily.

Morse keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Morse is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Watts pulls his head out easily.
Morse is not content to let Watts control the position.
Morse has hold of Watts's hands but Watts slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Morse looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Watts decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Watts shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Morse eats them both and turns towards Watts to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Watts decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Morse is trying to control but can't.
Morse is refusing to be controlled, as Watts sits in half guard.

Watts stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Morse shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Watts pinned against the cage. Watts gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Watts closes the distance and pushes Morse back into the cage.

Watts turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Watts manages to end up in side control.
Watts is looking to take a break and control but Morse is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morse is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Watts has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Morse sneaks back into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Morse landing small, sideways elbows.
Watts throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Morse is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Watts pulls his head out easily.
Morse is not content to let Watts control the position.

Morse is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Watts is tapping! Great win for Morse!
