PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simr Amud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duster Bender (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Duster Bender was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Simr Amud!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Duster Bender!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bender pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Amud shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bender pinned against the cage. Bender gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Bender forces Amud back against the cage and clinches.

Bender drags the fight down to the ground.
Amud makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Amud trying to control the position from guard on top but Bender is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Amud has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Amud in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Amud trying to control but Bender is working from the bottom.
Bender tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bender really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Amud. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bender throws his legs up looking for a submission but Amud uses it to pass to side control.
Bender can't do much from the bottom here.
Amud lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bender down.

Amud looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Amud working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Amud scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Bender to see if he's OK.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Amud cracks Bender with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Bender is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Amud looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Amud is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Bender is trying to escape and Amud transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Bender is forced to tap! Nice work there by Amud! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Simr Amud!
