Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wayde West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Wesson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). West comes to the cage accompanied by Sober. Wesson has chosen In Your Honor - Foo Fighters as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wayde West! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dean Wesson! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! West scores with a spinning back kick! West lands a left and a right that send Wesson crashing to the mat, dazed. West thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Wesson is rocked!
It looks like Dean Wesson has been cut. West throws a head kick that misses. Wesson is still on wobbly legs! Can West finish him? A punch combination from West misses. Wesson appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Wesson seems to have recovered his senses. West moves into the clinch successfully.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wesson is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Wesson breaks the clinch.

It looks like Wayde West has been cut. West forces Wesson back against the cage and clinches. West has a couple of punches blocked by Wesson.
West works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Wesson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
West wants to control from the top but Wesson keeps moving. West would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Wesson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. West gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. West preventing the sweep. West tries to stand but Wesson is controlling from the bottom. Wesson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but West can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Wesson looking to control.
Wesson has his foot on West's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. West works his way back into a safe position though. Wesson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. West gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. West sitting in guard, not really doing much. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wesson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
West wants to stand but Wesson is controlling his posture from full guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

West slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. West wants to stand but Wesson has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Wesson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from West is defended easily by Wesson. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Wesson! But no joy. Wesson misses with a body shot.

West closes the distance and pushes Wesson back into the cage. Wesson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but West has him pressed against the cage. West breaks from the clinch.
West fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. West misses with a series of wild punches.
West takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Wesson lands with a shot to the body. Wesson throws a body shot but no joy. West moves in looking to clinch but Wesson pushes him off. Nice sprawl there from Wesson as West shoots in. Wayde West is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Nice uppercut lands for Wesson. That snapped West's head back.
West doesn't manage to clinch there - Wesson circles away.
Nice defenses there by West. West fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wesson doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. West looks to clinch and Wesson counters with a stiff right hand. Wesson throws an overhand right that drops West like a sack of potatoes! Wesson dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
