Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ay One (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abu Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abu Rock has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ay One!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Abu Rock!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
One throws a hook to the side of Rock's head but Rock sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
One misses with a hook

and Rock counters with a shoot takedown. One fights it but they end up in guard.

One pushes Rock off and gets back to his feet.
One slaps away a takedown attempt from Rock, before circling back to the center of the mat.
One appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
A jab from One misses.
One stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and One wants it to stay on the feet.
Ay One seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

One has taken the fight to the clinch.
One prevents a takedown attempt there.
Ay One has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abu Rock.
Rock blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rock is trying to drag One to the mat but One just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

One lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Rock backwards.

One breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rock shoots in and drives through. One sprawls well.
One stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and One wants it to stay on the feet.
Rock fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
One throws a shot from downtown. Rock moves away and avoids it.
Ay One is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
One lands with a hook. Rock tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Rock fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. One sprawls well initially but Rock persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
One is looking to control Rock's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can One avoid being mounted?
Rock seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Rock is looking for a kimura but One is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rock to get the leverage.
One has his hands clasped together around Rock's back. He's all about the action.
Rock is trying to control. One wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
One is trying to get back to full guard.
Rock looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
One is looking to control Rock's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can One avoid being mounted?
One keeps control of the position for the meantime.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Rock working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
One is trying to get back to full guard.

Rock seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but One does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
One is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rock's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rock's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rock wants to escape the position.
Rock keeps trying to improve his position.
Can Rock hold on?! One is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Rock is desperately trying to improve his position but One has a good base and remains in mount.
One lands a couple of good shots and Rock has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
One is looking to control Rock but Rock is wriggling around and keeping busy.
One lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Rock hold on?!


Rock is rocked!
Rock is really stuck here.
Rock is still in real trouble! Can One finish him?
One avoiding Rock 's attempts to control his hands.
Rock seems to have recovered his senses.
One lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
One lands strikes to the head.
Rock tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
One with the ground and pound from mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rock bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

One seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



One lands a left and a right that send Rock crashing to the mat, dazed. One thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
A jab lands there for One.
Rock shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. One defends it nicely.
One cracks Rock with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Rock closes this distance looking for a takedown but One circles away.
One looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
One throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
One ducks under a wild hook from Rock.

Rock shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches One napping and manages to drive through into side control!
You can see the frustration on One's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Rock looks up at the clock and then as One takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Rock smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Rock takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
One is looking to improve his position.
Rock wants to take a breather but One is having none of it.
One is pressing down on Rock's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Rock's corner is telling him to maintain position.
One is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
One keeping moving, preventing Rock from controlling successfully.
Rock is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
One looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rock is one step ahead there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rock is stalling in the full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
One not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
One looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Rock shoots in for a takedown but One shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ay One has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abu Rock.
Rock tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. One manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Rock uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from One.
Rock feints the counter takedown.
One looks to land a right hand but Rock moved out of range.
No luck for Rock with that takedown attempt.
Rock takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

and Rock decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in One's guard.
One is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
