Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 18 - 1, fighting out of New York, Sam Talbert! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, The Sun God Ra! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ra tries to close the distance and clinch but Talbert swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ra throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Talbert went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Talbert takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Ra closes the distance and clinches. Ra lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Ra misses with some punches.
Talbert wants the takedown. Ra is fighting it off but Talbert persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Ra's guard against the cage. Ra is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Talbert presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Talbert breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The Sun God Ra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ra throws an off balance right hand
and Talbert cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Talbert throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ra falls off balance throwing a combination
and Talbert counters with a straight right hand. Talbert moves out of range as Ra strikes. Talbert looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ra misses with a right hand and Talbert counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Talbert looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Ra has closed the distance and engaged Talbert in a clinch.
Ra tries to land knees in the clinch but Talbert avoids the damage to the body. Ra utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Ra lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Sam Talbert has been cut. Ra looking to throw knees to the head but Talbert is blocking nicely.

Ra tries to bum rush Talbert with a series of wild strikes but Talbert uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

An attempted straight right counter from Talbert misses the target. Talbert blocks a jab. Ra throws a big shot that misses. A little feinted left hand from Talbert on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Ra swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Ra changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Talbert throws a lazy right hand but Ra sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Ra swings for the body but Talbert moves out of range.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... The Sun God Ra! In his post fight interview, The Sun God Ra started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
